  5.  Today, Availability Services announces the following SmoothStart
  6.  Services for IBM Software Servers:
  7.  
  8. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for OS/2* Warp Server}
  9.  
  10.     Software installation services for OS/2 Warp Server solutions
  11.     as a domain, file/print, application, software, distribution,
  12.     or system management server in LAN systems or TCP/IP networks.
  13.  
  14. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Directory and Security Server for AIX*}
  15.  
  16.     Designed to assist the customer with planning, installation,
  17.     configuration, and operation of a DCE cell environment on an AIX
  18.     system to support DCE users and applications.
  19.  
  20. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for AIX Connections}
  21.  
  22.     Provides a technical resource to help customers plan, install,
  23.     configure, and customize AIX connections on their RISC System/6000*
  24.     systems.
  25.  
  26. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Internet Connection Server for OS/2}
  27.  
  28.     Designed to assist customers with installation of the IBM Internet
  29.     Connection Server for OS/2 Warp.  Helps customers develop an
  30.     installation plan for the Web Server, install and establish the Web
  31.     Server in their environment, and create an initial home page and
  32.     up to four additional Web pages.
  33.  
  34. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Internet Connection Secure Server}
  35.    {for AIX}
  36.  
  37.     Provides installation of the Internet Connection Secure Server
  38.     product.  Helps customers develop an installation plan for the
  39.     Web Server, install and establish the Web Server in their environ-
  40.     ment, create an initial home page and up to four additional
  41.     Web pages, and verify accessibility using an available browser.
  42.     This service includes the following components:
  43.     - Secure Web Server
  44.     - Secure Web Server administration
  45.     - Verifies customized Web pages using an available browser.

  47. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Database Server for OS/2}
  48.  
  49.     Installation services for the following Database Server solutions
  50.     on the OS/2 platform:
  51.     - DB2* Database Server
  52.     - DDCS Gateway to an MVS* host.
  53.  
  54. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Database Server for AIX}
  55.  
  56.     Installation services for Database Management System (DBMS).  This
  57.     service replaces the IBM DB2 for UNIX** Planning, and the DBS for
  58.     UNIX Installation and Configuration services previously announced
  59.     in Services Announcement 695-004, dated May 9, 1995.

  61. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Lotus Notes}
  62.  
  63.     Installation services for Lotus Notes on the OS/2 Warp or AIX
  64.     Server platform.  The base service includes Notes server
  65.     installation and setup and Notes client installation and
  66.     registration.  Optional services include remote server access
  67.     configuration, server-to-server connectivity configuration,
  68.     and multi-protocol server configuration.

  70.     Note:  IBM will team with Lotus Business Partners to provide the
  71.     Lotus solution for your customer(s).

  73. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Communications Server for OS/2}
  74.  
  75.     Part of an offering package designed to address customers' needs
  76.     for installing and upgrading SNA-centric networks.  This service
  77.     provides connectivity verification services for one SNA
  78.     communications server.
  79.  
  80. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Communications Server for AIX}
  81.  
  82.     Provides planning, installation, and customization required
  83.     to enable SNA network access in an AIX environment.
  84.  
  85. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for Transaction Server for OS/2, or}
  86.    {for AIX}
  87.  
  88.     IBM CICS* SmoothStart for OS/2 and IBM CICS SmoothStart for AIX,
  89.     announced in Services Announcement 695-004, dated May 9, 1995,
  90.     have been renamed IBM SmoothStart Service for Transaction Server
  91.     for OS/2, or for AIX and have been enhanced to include the IBM
  92.     Transaction Server for OS/2 Warp Server, Version 4 products.

  94. {o  IBM SmoothStart Service for SystemView for AIX}
  95.  
  96.     Renamed and enhanced, IBM SmoothStart Service for SystemView for
  97.     AIX is designed to provide a base level of functionality for
  98.     network management operations, software distribution, and
  99.     configuration management.

  101.  Planned availability for these services is March 26, 1996, with
  102.  the exception of IBM SmoothStart Service for Directory and Security
  103.  Server for AIX and IBM SmoothStart Service for Communications Server
  104.  for AIX, OS/2 which will be available during 1996.
