  37. IBM Developer Connection Release 2 is a new 12-month subscription
  38. program that offers developers the tools and technology they need to
  39. create applications across a wide variety of platforms, including the
  40. ability to integrate network computing with Internet technologies.
  41. IBM Developer Connection Release 2 is part of IBM's initiative to
  42. provide developers with the tools they need to share in the Java
  43. (TM), Internet, network computing, and other rapidly growing markets.

  45. IBM Developer Connection Release 2 provides the tools developers need
  46. to develop communications, database, Internet, Java, systems
  47. management, and transaction software for IBM and non-IBM platforms.
  48. By subscribing to IBM Developer Connection Release 2, you can receive
  49. technical articles, sample code, fixes, utilities, white papers,
  50. pre-release products, operating system toolkits, application
  51. development products, IBM Software Server toolkits, and IBM Software
  52. Server runtimes.

  54. IBM Developer Connection Release 2 has three fee-based subscription
  55. levels -- Member, Advanced, and Premier -- and a no-fee level --
  56. Guest.

  58. The Guest level provides developers access to Java and Web-enablement
  59. tools, source code samples, technical documentation, corrective
  60. service, utilities, and templates.  These tools can be accessed by
  61. any developer on the Web at URL:

  66. The Member level consolidates most of the Guest level onto CDs and
  67. adds more tools and a Java-enabled browser.  The Advanced level
  68. subscription adds IBM operating system toolkits and IBM Software
  69. Server toolkits to the Member level subscription.  The Premier level
  70. subscription adds a comprehensive client/server test environment to
  71. the Advanced level.

  73. Included with the Member, Advanced, and Premier subscription level
  74. offerings is entitlement to a hardcopy technical magazine filled with
  75. articles from developers.  Some articles include sample code, while
  76. others contain hints and tips.

  78. IBM Developer Connection Release 2 is designed to consolidate,
  79. enhance, and replace:  IBM Developer Connection for OS/2 (R) and AIX
  80. (R); IBM Developer Connection Cross-Platform Developer Kits; and IBM
  81. Developer Connection Device Driver Kit for OS/2.  Refer to the
  82. Description section for information regarding fulfillment of
  83. unexpired subscriptions for IBM Developer Connection offerings being
  84. replaced.

  86. Subscribers to the Member, Advanced, or Premier subscription level
  87. are entitled, during their 12-month subscription period, to receive
  88. any Volumes and Issues that IBM makes available for the particular
  89. level to which they have subscribed.  A Volume shall consist of
  90. CD-ROMs containing all applicable tools and information.  An Issue is
  91. a refresh of tools and information for a particular Volume and will
  92. not include a reshipment of tools and information you already have.
  93. IBM shall determine when a Volume or Issue is made available and the
  94. contents at each subscription level.

  119. The Internet and intranet software and services markets are
  120. continuing to grow.  Businesses are adding Internet technologies to

  123. providers are offering services beyond the traditional customer
  124. dial-in services.  IBM Developer Connection Release 2 provides the
  125. tools developers need to share in these rapidly growing Internet and
  126. intranet software and services markets.

  129. they need for integrating client/server computing with the latest IBM
  130. and Internet technologies on multiple platforms.  Whether developers
  131. are migrating applications from one platform to another, adding new

  133. IBM Developer Connection Release 2 is the source for a comprehensive
  134. set of development tools.

  147. Java-based search engine and a Java-based user interface that
  148. displays the categories, product families, and operating system
  149. environments that may be of interest to a developer.

  163. subscription to IBM Developer Connection for OS/2 and AIX.  The
  164. number of IBM Developer Connection Release 2 Volumes and Issues you
  165. are entitled to receive is equal to the number of Volumes you have
  166. remaining on your IBM Developer Connection for OS/2 and AIX
  167. subscription.

  169. Unexpired subscriptions for IBM Developer Connection for OS/2 and AIX
  170. will be fulfilled with an IBM Developer Connection Release Advanced
  171. level subscription.  The number of IBM Developer Connection Release 2
  172. Volumes and Issues you are entitled to receive is equal to the number
  173. of Volumes you have remaining on your IBM Developer Connection for
  174. OS/2 and AIX subscription.

  177. Kit for OS/2 will be fulfilled with an IBM Developer Connection
  178. Release 2 Advanced level subscription.  As an IBM Developer
  179. Connection Device Driver Kit for OS/2 subscriber, you were entitled
  180. to a subscription to IBM Developer Connection for OS/2 and AIX.  The
  181. number of IBM Developer Connection Release 2 Volumes and Issues you
  182. are entitled to receive is equal to the number of Volumes you have
