  41. The SAA(R) Consumer Transaction/2 programs -- Consumer Transaction
  42. (CT(TM)) Definition/2 and Consumer Transaction Runtime/2 -- provide
  43. the OS/2(R) application enablers on which to develop integrated,
  44. advanced branch teller and platform PS/2(R)-based financial
  45. solutions.  In addition to helping developers design applications
  46. that showcase their products, Version 2.2 enhancements also help
  47. increase end-user productivity.
  48.  
  49. Version 2.2 includes enhancements such as:
  50.  
  51. o  Native notebook support
  52.  
  53.    The CT/2(TM) definition tool palette now provides for a notebook
  54.    control.  This notebook allows users to design applications with
  55.    complex data entry requirements in a minimum amount of time.
  56.  
  57. o  Business graphics in a window
  58.  
  59.    CT/2 software expands business graphics capability by providing a
  60.    WYSIWYG editor to design graphs, which users can display on a
  61.    transaction window.  A new print option also is available that
  62.    allows users to print displayed graphs.
  63.  
  64. o  Field events for pushbuttons
  65.  
  66.    CT/2 software expands field event support to allow field events on
  67.    pushbuttons.  This new capability gives users a simple way to
  68.    invoke transactions.

  87. Version 2.2 Enhancements

  89. o  Native notebook support
  90.  
  91.    The CUA(TM) '91 notebook control is included in the CT/2 toolkit.
  92.    A notebook allows for greater flexibility in data entry and
  93.    platform operations.

  95. o  Business graphics in a window
  96.  
  97.    Graphs can be created using a WYSIWYG editor and displayed on a
  98.    transaction window.

  100. o  Field events for pushbuttons
  101.  
  102.    Support for field events is extended to include pushbuttons.
  103.    Users can specify what happens when a pushbutton is pressed.

  105. o  Multi-instance capability

  107.    Multiple copies of CT/2 software can run on the same workstation.
  108.    This allows several operators to be signed onto a physical
  109.    workstation at the same time, sharing the input/output resources
  110.    of the workstation.

  114.    A new feature on the panel editor allows users to print the
  115.    contents and characteristics of a panel.

  119.    Users can delete an unreferenced entity from the repository.

  123.    CT/2 software can act as a client and a server.  Previously, CT/2
  124.    software could act only as a server.

  126. o  Remote support for 4772, 4777, and 4778 devices

  128.    CT/2 software provides remote (shared) support through LANDP(TM)
  129.    for the 4772, 4777 and 4778 devices.

  131. o  Print Trace/Log utility

  133.    Users can selectively print trace and log entries.  The tool is
  134.    OS/2-based but handles CT/DOS and CT/2 files.

  136. o  Print support for business graphics
  137.  
  138.    A print option is available when a business graph is displayed,
  139.    allowing users to print the displayed graph.

  141. o  Scalable windows
  142.  
  143.    CT/2 software provides the ability to scale a CT/2 window and have
  144.    all controls scale appropriately.  Users also can specify the
  145.    fonts during the scaling.

  147. o  Ability to list operator file contents
  148.  
  149.    The capabilities of the ACCOP verb are expanded to allow for more
  150.    flexible operator file management.

  152. o  Support for JetForm Corporation forms software
  153.  
  154.    CT/2 software provides support for making programming calls to
  155.    JetForm forms software from JetForm Corporation.  This permits
  156.    information collected using CT/2 software to be printed on forms
  157.    created by the customer using JetForm software.  JetForm software
  158.    is a separate non-IBM product and is not included in this
  159.    announcement.  Customers can order JetForm software from IBM in
  160.    accordance with and under the terms of RPQ P90130.

  194. publications is offered in displayable softcopy form.  The
  195. displayable manuals are part of the basic machine-readable material.

  197. machine-readable material.

  200. licensed programs in any of the supported environments.  Terms and
  201. conditions for use of the machine-readable files are shipped with the

  312. Compatibility:  Applications developed for CT Runtime/2 Version 2.2
  313. are compatible with those previously developed for CT Runtime/2
  314. Version 2.1.  Because CT Runtime/2 uses 32-bit architecture, all
  315. dynamic link libraries (DLLs) called from CT/2 software must use
  316. 32-bit architecture.  This may require coding changes and a recompile
  317. using a 32-bit compiler.
  318.  
  319. The first time CT/2 Version 2.2 is run it will re-level the Branch
  320. file.  Once the Branch file is re-leveled, it can no longer be used
  321. by previous versions of the CT/2 or CT/DOS products.
  322.  
  323. A CT/DOS PTF will be made available to allow DOS compatibility with
  324. the re-leveled Branch file.
  325.

  328. Packaging:  The SAA CT Definition/2 Version 2.2 and CT Runtime/2
  329. Version 2.2 programs are available on double-side, 3.5-inch
  330. diskettes.  The programs are delivered in object code only (OCO) with
  331. diskettes containing sample transactions.

  462. The program package upgrade option allows currently licensed users of

  475. available through IBM Authorized Personal Computer Dealers and
  476. Industry Remarketers -- Personal Computers certified to market IBM
  477. Authorized Advanced Products.  The remarketer will require a Proof of
  478. License for each upgrade ordered.  The original Proof of License is
  479. the colored front cover page (inside the hard binder) or the separate
  480. Proof of License page in the program package as identified by IBM to
  481. the remarketer.

  483. Customers also can order upgrades through the local IBM office using
  484. the IBM Personal Software Program Upgrade and Certification Order
  485. Form included with this announcement.  The total quantity of upgrades
  486. acquired for a specific program cannot exceed the total quantity of
  487. program packages and/or additional licenses previously acquired for
  488. that program.  Proof of License for upgrade eligibility for
  489. additional license upgrades is a copy of this invoice or previously
  490. acquired Proof of Entitlement for Additional License -- with
  491. Certificate.  Additional license upgrades can be entered through the
