  29.                  New packaging, pricing, channels, and program enhancements are
  30.           offered for Time and Place (TM) Connectivity/2 (TaPC/2) and IBM
  31.           Address Book Synchronization/2 (ABS/2).  The TaPC/2 program lets you
  32.           schedule meetings via IBM WorkGroup mail and includes Enterprise
  33.           Meeting Notice (EMN) support to OfficeVision/400 (TM).  The ABS/2
  34.           program supports additional address book types.
  35.                  TaPC/2 and ABS/2 are now packaged together in a single
  36.           shrink-wrapped program package that is available under the terms of
  37.           the IBM Program License Agreement.  TaPC/2 and ABS/2 were previously
  38.           offered under the terms of the IBM Customer Agreement (ICA).  And,
  39.           you can now obtain the TaPC/2 and ABS/2 program package through your
  40.           preferred distribution channel.
  41.                  TaPC/2 is a LAN-based, bidirectional calendar connectivity
  42.           program that offers connectivity to IBM WorkGroup.  This OS/2 (R)
  43.           32-bit program allows users of Time and Place/2, OfficeVision/VM
  44.           (TM), OfficeVision/MVS (TM), OfficeVision/400, PROFS, and IBM
  45.           WorkGroup scheduling and calendaring to perform interactive,
  46.           bidirectional view, free-time search, and calendar update operations
  47.           in host and LAN environments.
  48.                  ABS/2 provides any-to-any synchronization.  Information can be
  49.           synchronized between several LAN address book types, several host
  50.           address book types, or LAN and host address book types.  And,
  51.           information can be synchronized unidirectionally or bidirectionally.
  52.           Unidirectional synchronization is the transfer of information in only
  53.           one direction from one address book to another -- the first as the
  54.           source, the second as the target.  Bidirectional synchronization is
  55.           the transfer of information between two address books in both
  56.           directions.

  85. OVERVIEW  DESCRIPTION
  86.           NEW PACKAGING AND LICENSING
  87.           TaPC/2 and ABS/2 are now packaged together in a single shrink-wrapped
  88.           program package under the terms of the IBM Program License Agreement.
  89.           These programs were offered under the terms of the IBM Customer
  90.           Agreement (ICA).
  91.           TIME AND PLACE CONNECTIVITY/2
  92.           By providing interconnectivity and interoperability between hosts and
  93.           LAN, TaPC/2 enables real-time group scheduling of people across
  94.           enterprises.  Host and LAN users are able to see and use calendar
  95.           data belonging to users in both environments, in the interface they
  96.           are accustomed to.  Coordination of people is simple and automatic,
  97.           with users able to route meeting notices across different computing
  98.           platforms, bidirectionally, and with no need to understand where
  99.           other users reside.  As a result, you can optimize host and LAN
  100.           platform investment and utilization over time, enabling better
  101.           decision-making on rightsizing and group scheduling solutions.
  102.                  Together with IBM WorkGroup, TaPC/2 helps you become more
  103.           productive by eliminating unproductive tasks associated with
  104.           reserving time with other employees.  By giving users immediate
  105.           access to other users' calendar data, without retraining or the need
  106.           to know platform information, TaPC/2 and IBM WorkGroup can keep users
  107.           productive in the midst of technology changes or personnel movements.
  108.                  TaPC/2 provides for an orderly transition and co-existence,
  109.           over time, for moving users to a LAN environment.  As new LAN-based
  110.           users are added, IBM WorkGroup users are able to transparently
  111.           interact with existing OfficeVision/VM, PROFS, OfficeVision/MVS, or
  112.           OfficeVision/400 users to view, free-time search, and update
  113.           calendars.
  114.           ADDRESS BOOK SYNCHRONIZATION/2
  115.           Address Book Synchronization/2 (ABS/2) automatically updates
  116.           information between supported LAN and host address books.  This

  152.                  TaPC/2 and ABS/2 let you do cross-calendar activities and
  153.           synchronize directories between existing OfficeVision (R) functions
  154.           and the IBM WorkGroup suite.  Recognizing that many customers have
  155.           already invested in a mail gateway, this packaging adds the
  156.           functionality required to support the extended capabilities of the
  157.           directory and group scheduling functions of IBM WorkGroup.
  158.                  Customers who have not invested in a mail gateway should
  159.           evaluate the functionality of IMLG/2 that works in concert with
  160.           TaPC/2 and ABS/2.

  429.           security between IBM Address Book Synchronization for OS/2 and the
  430.           host address books and is managed by administrator control of the
