  12. TITLE     IBM ANYNET SNA OVER TCP/IP GATEWAY FOR OS/2
  13. ABSTRACT         The AnyNet (TM) SNA over TCP/IP Gateway for OS/2 (R),
  14.           Version 1.0 connects IP networks and SNA networks to enable
  15.           communication between SNA applications.
  16.                  This gateway delivers a set of four gateway sizes, providing
  17.           you with optimal cost-effective choices.  The low-priced entry size
  18.           meets the needs of small, remote offices by providing support for 20
  19.           sessions.  The 100, 250, and 500 session sizes support small, medium
  20.           and large networks.  The size of the AnyNet SNA over TCP/IP Gateway
  21.           can be changed by simply using a password -- no reinstall or
  22.           reconfigure is required, except to enter the new password.
  23.                  In conjunction with the AnyNet products -- that run on OS/2,
  24.           MVS/ESA (TM), AIX (R), and AS/400 (R) -- networks can run SNA

  143.           NEW APPLICATIONS ENABLEMENT
  144.           Significant business solutions are provided by enabling SNA
  145.           applications, such as CICS (TM), to communicate across an IP network
  146.           whether on a LAN, nationwide or worldwide.
  147.           FUTURE GROWTH
  148.           AnyNet allows you to grow networked applications independent of the
  149.           underlying transport protocol.
  150.           IMPROVED PROGRAMMER PRODUCTIVITY
  151.           Programmers can now write applications to their preferred interface
  152.           and the applications can run over different network protocols.  No
  153.           application rewrite is required for a new network environment.  This
  154.           means less to learn, less to change, and less to maintain in SNA and
  155.           IP networks.
  156.           BROAD APPLICATION ACCESS
  157.           End users with SNA applications can now access and communicate with
  158.           other SNA applications worldwide across IP networks.  Less effort and
  159.           cost is required by system programmers, network planners, and
  160.           administrators to achieve this connectivity.
  161.           REDUCED NETWORK COMPLEXITY
  162.           Since the AnyNet product family can help customers reduce the number
  163.           of physical and logical networks required, the resultant network is
  164.           simpler and less costly to maintain.  AnyNet is also configuration,
  165.           installation, and distribution (CID) and national language support
  166.           (NLS) enabled for simplified product management and worldwide
  167.           support.
