  52. OVERVIEW   DESCRIPTION
  53.            BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
  54.            IBM CallPath SwitchServer/2 has a unique role in establishing or
  55.            enhancing integrated telephone and data-processing capabilities.  It
  56.            provides the connectivity between telephone systems and
  57.            data-processing systems.  When combined with  CallPath Server/2, AIX
  58.            CallPath Server 6000, CallPath/2 (TM), CallPath/6000 (TM), CallPath
  59.            CICS (TM), CallPath/400 (TM) and CallPath Call Coordinator/2 (TM),
  60.            CallPath Call Coordinator (TM)/CICS or CallCoordinator for Windows
  61.            (1) and the user's business application, telephone call center
  62.            activity may be further automated and streamlined, saving agent time,
  63.            improving customer service, and providing a means to create
  64.            competitive advantage business services.
  65.                   SwitchServer/2 provides an interface to multiple IBM
  66.            computers, reducing network costs and simplifying the
  67.            computer-telephone system networks.
  68.            NOTE: For additional information on CallPath/400 Version 3 Release 1
  69.            and supported telephone switches, refer to the CallPath/400 Version 3

  74.                   SwitchServer/2 is enhanced to support AT&T DEFINITY Generic 3i

  76.            ASAI switch software including the Expert Agent Selection (EASe)
  77.            feature.

  98.            code 5875) is only required when Meridian Link 4 is used with
  99.            Release 19 switch software.  SwitchServer/2 (feature code 5815) will
  100.            still work when Meridian Link 3 is used with Release 19.

  133.            configurations for CallPath SwitchServer/2; however, customer
  134.            requirements may dictate that configurations other than those stated
  135.            here are applicable:
  136.            o   IBM Personal System/2 (R) (PS/2 (R)) based on Microchannel
  137.                Architecture (MCA)
  138.                -   386 CPU at 20 MHZ or higher
  139.                -   Minimum 16 megabytes (16MB) random access memory (RAM)
  140.                -   Minimum 100MB fixed disk
  141.                -   An OS/2 (R) compatible pointing device such as a mouse
  142.                -   One slot or more for Switch Connection
  143.                -   One slot for Host Connection if required
  144.            o   Communications Requirements

  205.                required if SS/2 needs to communicate with CallPath hosts over
  206.                either Token Ring or Ethernet LAN.  LAPS is included in the IBM
  207.                CM/2 Version 1.1 software.
  208.            o   In addition to the SwitchServer/2 specific requirements, the
  209.                customer must have the current version of CallPath CICS/MVS,
  210.                CallPath/2, CallPath DOS for Windows, CallPath/400,
  211.                CallPath/6000, CallPath Server/2 or AIX CallPath Server/6000.
  212.            PERFORMANCE CONSIDERATIONS:  The busy hour call volumes, call types,
  213.            and number of host attachments place different performance
  214.            requirements on SwitchServer/2.  The model of PS/2 and memory and
  215.            disk space requirements should be verified for each customer
  216.            configuration.

  310.            optional feature and charged for separately.  If a replacement
  311.            program is announced and the customer elects to license the
  312.            replacement program for a one-time charge and replace the prior
  313.            program, an upgrade charge may apply.
