  4. ABSTRACT   NetWare** Client for OS/2 (R) 2.1 provides seamless integration of
  5.            OS/2 workstations into NetWare networks.  An OS/2 workstation running
  6.            the NetWare Client for OS/2 gives users transparent access to NetWare
  7.            resources such as file, print, database and communication services.
  8.            The client enables one OS/2 workstation to concurrently access
  9.            multiple servers.  For example, the user can access information from
  10.            a NetWare file server and simultaneously query an OS/2 database.
  11.            The NetWare Client for OS/2 gives consistent, easy access to
  12.            NetWare 2.x, NetWare 3.x, and NetWare 4.x services and resources
  13.            because the same set of Universal Client Architecture modules are
  14.            used in other NetWare clients.  The client can be used with any
  15.            NetWare network: NetWare 2.x, NetWare 3.x and NetWare 4.x, NetWare
  16.            for UNIX**, and NetWare for OS/2.  It supports all NetWare APIs and
  17.            provides connectivity to NetWare servers through IPX, to
  18.            OS/2 application servers through NetBIOS and Names Pipes, and to
  19.            UNIX-based servers through TCP/IP.  Accessing the network is easy
  20.            using the Presentation Manager (R) workstation tools and the
  21.            LAN-aware Workplace Shell (R) shell in OS/2.x.  This shell enables
  22.            OS/2 workstations to act as non-dedicated print servers (through its
  23.            remote printer capability) and it supports as many as 1,000
  24.            simultaneous Names Pipes connections.
  25.            LANalyzer for Windows (1) 2.1 is the latest version of NetWare
  26.            LANalyzer for Windows, the network analysis software.  The name has
  27.            been changed deleting the word "NetWare."  With this new release,
  28.            LANalyzer for Windows 2.1 can provide affordable network
  29.            troubleshooting and optimization capabilities for NFS and SNA
  30.            networks, in addition to NetWare, AppleTalk**, and TCP/IP networks,
  31.            which have been previously supported.  This offers users with UNIX
  32.            and IBM-based systems the option for a network analyzer that is less
  33.            costly and easier to use than those previously available for those
  34.            environments.
  35.            LANalyzer for Windows 2.1 supports most enterprise networks directly
  36.            including NetWare, TCP/IP, AppleTalk, NFS, and SNA-based networks,
  37.            LANalyzer for Windows 2.1 is also an open system, so users who need
  38.            support for other protocols, like Vines, DECnet, or LAN Manager can
  39.            purchase a third-party product that adds that support.
  40.            LANalyzer for Windows 2.1 is based on ODI drivers, which means it is
  41.            not limited to specific hardware platforms.  In addition to
  42.            supporting Ethernet and token-ring networks, the new release also
  43.            supports the forthcoming 100MB Ethernet hardware.

  87. OVERVIEW   DESCRIPTION
  88.            ACCESS TO ENTERPRISE DATA
  89.            The NetWare Client for OS/2 2.1 enables the customer to have seamless
  90.            integration of OS/2 workstations into NetWare networks.  Through this
  91.            product the user has transparent access to NetWare resources such as
  92.            file, print, database, and communication services.  The client
  93.            enables one OS2 workstation to concurrently access multiple servers.
  94.            IS OPERATIONS PRODUCTIVITY
  95.            LANalyzer for Windows 2.1 offers the user an affordable software
  96.            application for monitoring, analyzing and troubleshooting Ethernet,
  97.            token-ring and the forthcoming 100MB Ethernet hardware networks.
  98.            LANalyzer offers the user network management training to assist in
  99.            the education of the user's staff.
  100.            INTER-OPERABILITY IMPROVEMENTS:  NetWare Client for OS/2 2.1 gives
  101.            consistent, easy access to NetWare 2.x, NetWare 3.x, and NetWare 4.x
  102.            services and resources by using the same set of Universal Client
  103.            Architecture modules as are used in other NetWare clients.  LANalyzer
  104.            for Windows 2.1 now provides affordable network troubleshooting and
  105.            optimization capabilities for NFS and SNA networks in addition to the
  106.            NetWare, AppleTalk, and TCP/IP networks it had previously supported.
  107.            ADDITIONAL PRODUCT INFORMATION
  108.            The NetWare Client for OS/2 2.1 contains several enhancements over
  109.            previous versions.  DOS/Windows support now includes a revised
  110.            architecture of the Global environment, support for NetWare Directory
  111.            Services in the VMBOOT session, and support for enhanced mode Windows
  112.            applications.  In addition, electronic documentation is provided in
  113.            OS/2 Standard format, set-up of OS/2 LAN Server requester coexistence
  114.            is automatic, and remote-boot capability is supported.
  115.            EXTENDED REGISTRATION TIME
  116.            An extension date was announced on March 29, 1994, in Software
  117.            Announcement 294-146, and that date is now being extended.  Customers
  118.            who have already registered their NetWare 4.0 will also receive free
  119.            updates.  Customers must register their product, using the
  120.            registration card provided with the product, to be eligible to
  121.            receive these enhancements.
  122.                   Updates provided will be:
  123.            o   Periodic updates to the NetWare 4.x operating system.
  124.            o   Utilities that enable customers to easily build their NetWare
  125.                Directory Services directory trees using either a corporate
  126.                top-down approach or a departmental bottoms-up approach.  Network
  127.                administrators can merge diverse trees into a single tree, cut
  128.                and paste branches of a tree, and rename directory container
  129.                objects.
  130.            o   Tools that more tightly integrate NetWare 3.x with NetWare 4.x.
  131.                These bindery synchronization tools enable network administrators
  132.                to fully manage a mixed NetWare 3.x and NetWare 4.x environment
  133.                using NetWare 4.x administration utilities.

  233.            May 16, 1994.

  242.            NetWare from IBM product are:

  244.            2.  A shipment date response of "unscheduled" will be returned until
