TITLE IBM FAXROUTER/2 HIGH-PERFORMANCE FACSIMILE SOLUTION VERSION 1.2
ABSTRACT FaxRouter/2 provides the capability to send, receive, display,
archive and print facsimiles from the user's OS/2 (R) Token-Ring
workstation. Facsimiles can be automatically routed to all users by
the use of a routing code via touch tone phone or an optical mark
recognition (OMR) sheet. All required hardware is contained within
the FaxRouter/2 server, thus eliminating the need for additional
hardware at the user's workstation. FaxRouter/2 communicates with
Group 3 industry standard facsimile machines.
FaxRouter/2 1.2 implements a multi-server environment. Now
volumes of facsimiles can be handled more efficiently. In addition,
a new feature is being announced. Now FaxRouter/2 can interface to
ImagePlus (R).
FaxRouter/2 is no longer eligible for volume discounting under
the Personal Computer/System Programs Exhibit nor eligible to receive
National Education License Fee discounts.
One-Time Charges:
o $1,995 (FaxRouter/2 Version 1.2)
o $12,500 (ImagePlus Base).
Planned Availability Date: September 24, 1993.

Corporation.
(TM) Trademark of International Business Machines Corporation.
IN BRIEF . . .
FaxRouter/2 Version 1.2.0 provides a fast and convenient way
to manage and control the facsimile process.
o Can support a multiple server environment. Virtually every
in-coming call should not receive a busy signal. The software
restriction is eight IBM FaxConcentrator (TM) Adapters per
server.
o Supports a deferred Send function to allow you to send facsimiles
when telephone lines are not as busy or when rates are lower.
o Establishes ownership of the received facsimile when the
facsimile is registered. If the facsimile is sent with a routing
code this registration process is done automatically.
o Maintains a facsimile log (ownership, time sent or received,
etc.) of all facsimile activity.
o Queues Send operations if all telephone line are busy until they
are available.
o Can send a facsimile to an individual recipient or to a group of
recipients.
o Can route a facsimile into or out of ImagePlus if the ImagePlus
feature is installed.

BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
FaxRouter/2 provides a business solution for customers who have grown
to depend on the technology of a fax machine. FaxRouter/2 enables
you to send, receive, view, print and archive facsimiles right from
your workstation. FaxRouter/2 alleviates many of the time-consuming
processes performed when using a conventional facsimile machine. For
example, a user would have to print a document, walk to the fax
machine, often stand in line, return to his or her workstation, then
return to the fax machine to see if the document has been
transmitted. A conventional fax machine user may also have to take
several trips to the fax machine to see if the document had been
received. FaxRouter/2 allows you to set up a more efficient
facsimile business process by allowing you to reduce the amount of
time spent transferring data. FaxRouter/2's new release continues to
save the end user time and money. FaxRouter/2 1.2 allows the user to
prioritize the outgoing facsimiles so that urgent facsimiles can
receive prompt attention. Costs can be reduced by batching
facsimiles with the same destination, hence making one phone call.
FaxRouter/2 Version 1.2 has reduced the restrictions on the file
format. TIFF, PCX and BMP files are now accepted making facsimile
editing much easier. Scanned images are accepted into FaxRouter/2 as
well. Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) have been written to
give the application the flexibility to grow with the end user's
needs, that is, ImagePlus and Notification.
FaxRouter/2 is fully compliant with Systems Application
Architecture (R) (SAA (TM)).
