  7. ABSTRACT          IBM CallPath SwitchServer/2 (TM) (SS/2) provides connectivity
  8.            between telephone systems and data processing systems.  By automating
  9.            and streamlining telephone call center activity, SS/2 can improve
  10.            customer service by saving agent time and reduce network cost by
  11.            simplifying the computer-telephone system networks.
  12.                   IBM SS/2 is enhanced to provide support of the following:
  13.            o   American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T (1)) 5ESS (1) Central
  14.                Office (CO) System.
  15.            o   ROLM 9751 (2) Computerized Branch Exchange (CBX (2))
  16.                Release 9006i switch software.
  17.            o   Northern Telecom Meridian (3) 1 Communications System Release 18
  18.                switch software and Meridian Link Release 3 software.  The
  19.                SwitchServer/2 now supports the Invoke Feature program call in
  20.                Meridian Link Release 3 software.  This is in addition to support
  21.                of Release 16 and 17 switch software and Meridian Link Release 2
  22.                software.
  23.            o   AT&T DEFINITY Generic 3i (1) (G3i (1)), Generic 3r (1) (G3r (1))
  24.                and Generic 3s (1) (G3s (1)) G3V2 CallVisor ASAI switch software.
  25.                The Expert Agent Selection (EASe) feature in G3V2 CallVisor ASAI
  26.                is not supported currently.  SS/2 continues to support G3V1
  27.                CallVisor ASAI software features.
  28.                   In addition, IBM CallPath SwitchServer/2 Version 1 Release 2
  29.            now supports and prerequires IBM OS/2 (R) Version 2.1 and IBM
  30.            Communications Manager/2 (CM/2) Version 1.0 for the following
  31.            switches:
  32.            o   AT&T DEFINITY G3i, G3r, and G3s PBX (FN 5601)
  33.            o   AT&T 5ESS CO (FN 5855)
  34.            o   Northern Telecom Meridian 1 PBX (FN 5815)

  74. OVERVIEW   DESCRIPTION
  75.            BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
  76.            IBM CallPath SwitchServer/2 has a unique role in establishing or
  77.            enhancing integrated telephone and data-processing capabilities.  It
  78.            provides the connectivity between telephone systems and
  79.            data-processing systems.  When combined with CallPath CICS/MVS (TM),
  80.            CallPath CICS/VSE (TM), CallPath/2 (TM), CallPath/DOS for Windows
  81.            (4), CallPath/400 (TM), or CallPath/6000 (TM) and CallPath
  82.            CallCoordinator/2 (TM) or CallPath CallCoordinator CICS/MVS (TM) and
  83.            the user's business application, telephone call center activity may
  84.            be further automated and streamlined, saving agent time, improving
  85.            customer service, and providing a means to create competitive
  86.            advantage business services.
  87.                   SwitchServer/2 provides an interface to multiple IBM
  88.            computers, reducing network costs and simplifying the
  89.            computer-telephone system networks.

  110.            STATEMENT OF DIRECTION
  111.            IBM intends to provide IBM CallPath CallCoordinator/2 support of the
  112.            ROLM 9751 CBX Release 9006i switch software.
  113.                   Announcement of support of this switch software will be based
  114.            on IBM's technical and business judgement.
  115. TECHINFO   TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  116.            SPECIFIED OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
  117.            MACHINE REQUIREMENTS:  The following is the recommended
  118.            configurations for CallPath SwitchServer/2; however, customer
  119.            requirements may dictate that configurations other than those stated
  120.            here are applicable:
  121.            o   IBM Personal System/2 (R) (PS/2 (R)) based on Microchannel
  122.                Architecture (MCA)
  123.                -   For supporting AT&T G3i, G3r, G3s and 5ESS, Northern Telecom
  124.                    Meridian 1 and DMS-100, and ROLM 9751 Release 9005 and 9006i:
  125.                    --  386 CPU at 20 MHZ or higher.
  126.                    --  Minimum 16 megabytes (16MB) random access memory (RAM).
  127.                    --  Minimum 100MB fixed disk.
  128.                        (NOTE: The minimum memory and disk space configuration
  129.                        supports a maximum of 30 hosts.  Adding host(s) requires
  130.                        additional memory and disk space).
  131.                    --  One slot for Switch Connection.  For ROLM 9751
  132.                        Release 9005, one to five slots are needed depending on
  133.                        outbound traffic volume.

  252.                This licensed program provides communications service between
  253.                CallPath SwitchServer/2 and DOS Windows environment on the

  255.            o   In addition to the SwitchServer/2 specific requirements, the
  256.                customer must have the current version of CallPath CICS/MVS,
  257.                CallPath CICS/VSE, CallPath/2, CallPath DOS for Windows,
  258.                CallPath/400 or CallPath/6000.
  259.            PERFORMANCE CONSIDERATIONS:  The busy hour call volumes, call types,
  260.            and number of host attachments place different performance
  261.            requirements on SwitchServer/2.  The model of PS/2 and memory and
  262.            disk space requirements should be verified for each customer
  263.            configuration.
  264.            PLANNING INFORMATION
  265.            INSTALLABILITY:  To migrate from SwitchServer/2 Version 1 Release 1
  266.            to Version 1 Release 2, the following software are prerequisites.
  267.            o   IBM OS/2 Version 2.1 operating system
  268.            o   IBM CM/2 Version 1.0

  317.            Version 1 Release 1.  Orders entered with a scheduled shipment date
  318.            after planned availability will be shipped SwitchServer/2 Version 1
  319.            Release 2.  Unless a later date is specified, an order is scheduled

  321.                   For switch connectivity to the ROLM 9751 Release 9006i, orders
  322.            entered prior to the planned availability date will be assigned a
