  49. I used ns461 beta without any problems. The other day I installed
  50. ns461ga and I experienced some weird "features" and "enhancements".
  51. When using the messenger or newsgroup I see no text in the message
  52. windows anymore, but when I save them the text is there.... ? HTML
  53. messages are shown normally.

  55. When I select one of the popular search engines I see no field to enter
  56. a search string. The only way to search the net is through the netscape
  57. site. It almost looks like a MS "feature".
  58. Now I'm back at the beta again.
  59. Can anybody confirm this weird behaviour of NS461ga ?

  61. If it appears to be that Warp Connect is not supported anymore I'll
  62. switch to Linux. So be it....If IBM drops support I'll drop IBM and
  63. support for their products in other aireas as well...

  133. This sounds like a font problem where Netscape's default font 
  134. isn't available on your system for some reason.  Try going to 
  135. "Edit...Preferences...Appearance..Fonts" and changing the fonts 
  136. Netscape uses.
  137.  
  138. BTW, v4.61 is working pretty well here with Warp v3.  The 
  139. problems I've seen (100% cpu and decreased throughput on file 
  140. transfers and secure connections) don't appear to be Warp v3 
  141. issues as many other people have also noticed them.

  208. being present on "most of the OS/2 systems running"?

  210. It's present on mine (but that's anecdotal)... but I have to admit that 
  211. I've never specifically requested its presence, it just "appeared" with 
  212. the rest of the OS/2 fonts. I've never given the matter much thought, 
  213. but if the question had come up I'd have assumed that it _would_ be 
  214. present on most OS/2 systems.

  216. On the other hand, I do see a number of problems reported against NS/2 
  217. 4.61 which suggesting re-selecting a font other than Courier New.
  218.  
  219. What would cause Courier New _not_ to be present on an OS/2 system,
  220. other than the user deleting it?  I ask from ignorance - I think I'm
  221. overlooking something obvious here (wouldn't be the first time (;-)).

  296. Also selected:  Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified

  344. Courier New is a TrueType Font. On Warp 3 there is no TTF engine out of the
  345. box.
  346. I just setup another machine with W3 Connect RedBox, and there really is no
  347. Courier New.
  348. The WfW311, wich I installed as replacement of WinOS2, has this Courier New.
  349. But it isn't 
  350. installable to OS/2 font palette. I think, there must be a TTF engine on W3
  351. since FP 32 (+-2),
  352. cause the java unicode is TTF and supported on W3.

  354. On W4 - as I learned from a post of Jeffry S. Kobal ( hope I remember right )
  355. in 
  356. c.o.o.bugs or c.o.o.beta - this font is only installed if you select WinOS2 to 
  357. install
  358. as well. If you omit installing WinOS2 , then there will be no Courier New. I
  359. havn't
  360. verified this myself, but there's no reason not to believe Jeffry .

  464. Courier New present (a.k.a. \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM\COUR*.TTF).
