Directions to the CPCUG Offices in Rockville for the OS/2 SIG meetings:
51 Monroe Street
Plaza East 2
Rockville, Maryland 20850
NOTE: On 1 Oct 1993 the combination to the door
from the garage changed to 2-9-1-5.
Please note that this is -NOT- the location of the general membership monthly
meeting or the Saturday morning training and education seminars.
****Using Metro:
Take the Red line to the Rockville Station, go left via the West Exit, up 2
floors to the B level, and through the enclosed walkway towards Rockville
Center, across Hungerford Drive/Rockville Pike (Route 355) and into the first
entrance to the building on the left (51 Monroe St.). If the door is not open
use the telephone to call the security guard. Stay on the Lobby floor level
and go left, right, left down the hall past the rest rooms to Plaza East 2.
****From Capital Beltway, Route 495 -
Driving north on I-270, be sure to be in the right-hand local lanes. Take
Exit 5, marked Rockville Town Center-Potomac, for Falls Road, Route 189. Stay
in the right-hand lane of the exit ramp so that you drive east on Maryland
Avenue. At the third traffic light, turn right on Fleet Street. Turn left at
the next traffic light onto Monroe Street. Take the second right (still
Monroe Street) and enter the garage by the red awning with 51 Monroe written
on it.
****From Route 270 North of Rockville, MD -
Exit Route 270 onto Route 28 (W. Montgomery Ave) which is 3 exits before the
495 Capital Beltway, and go East bound (right) towards Rockville. Stay on 28
for approximately 1.4 miles until the 7th traffic light, and turn left
(North) onto Monroe Street. (It is the last left prior to Rockville
Pike/Hungerford Dr. (Route 355), and there is a Potomac Valley Bank on the
left side at the corner). Go one block on Monroe St. and make a right turn at
the stop sign (which is still Monroe St). It's the tall building complex on
the left with a 1M sign on top, 51 Monroe St.
****From Wisconsin Ave/Rockville Pike (Route 355) Bethesda area -
Take Wisconsin Ave (which becomes Rockville Pike) North. Go past White Flint,
Congressional Plaza, and Wintergreen, and when nearing the town of Rockville,
get into the left lane and bear left/turn left (West) onto Route 28
(Jefferson St). You can see our building complex from the Pike, it's the tall
one with the 1M sign on top. Go one block on Route 28, and turn right (north)
at the light onto Monroe Street, then go one more block and turn right (east)
at the stop sign onto what is still called Monroe Street. We are in the large
building complex on the left, with the 1M sign at the top, 51 Monroe St.
****From Frederick Rd/Hungerford Drive (Route 355) Gaithersburg -
Take Frederick Road (which becomes Hungerford Drive) South. Go past
Hechinger's and near the Rockville Metro station, get into the right lane.
Turn right (West) onto Monroe St which is one block before (North) of E.
Jefferson St. (Route 28). We are in the large building complex on the right,
with a 1M sign at the top, 51 Monroe St.
****Parking/Building access on weeknights:
You can park on street after 6 pm with no restrictions, or in garage under
the building. Then enter the building via the door from the underground
garage. If the door is not open, use the combination (2-9-1-5 after 1 Oct
1993) to open it or use the telephone to call the security guard.
Take the elevator up one floor to the (L)obby level, go through the doors on
the left, and go down the long hall to room Plaza East 2.
From now on the parking attendant will be on duty until midnight during the
week and from 3:00 pm until 11:00 pm on Saturdays. There will be no attendant
on duty on Sundays. To avoid having to pay a parking fee when attending an
evening meeting, your parking ticket must be stamped with the CPCUG stamp
which will be on a table in the conference room. Persons not having their
tickets stamped will have to pay the parking fee.
