  1. INTRODUCTION
  2.  
  3.   Xit provides a one button click to close any PM/VIO window on the desktop.
  4.   When loaded, it adds a "Close" button (an 'X') on the left side of all PM/VIO
  5.   titlebars. Pressing this button does the same action as pressing Alt-F4, or
  6.   selecting the "Close" option in the system menu. Xit 1.x is freeware, and Xit
  7.   2.x (or later) is shareware.

  19.   Copy the first two files to any directory.  Insure this directory is in the
  20.   LIBPATH statement in CONFIG.SYS or that the current directory is indicated
  21.   (LIBPATH=.). You can place a shadow of the program in the startup folder if
  22.   required.

  24. USING XIT
  25.  
  26.   When Xit is loaded, it defaults to minimized and enabled.  To override these
  27.   defaults, use these startup options:
  28.  
  29.                 /NM     - don't minimize on startup
  30.                 /S      - suspend Xit on startup
  31.  
  32.   To toggle Xits state, press the Enable/Suspend button. To exit Xit, press the
  33.   Terminate button. Xit does not use any INI files nor does it modify CONFIG.SYS.

  44. XIT 2.X OR LATER
  45.  
  46.   If you like Xit 1.x, you are going to love Xit 2.x for OS/2. Xit gives you a
  47.   single click to many common actions that normally take a large number of mouse
  48.   movements and clicking.

  50.  FEATURES
  51.  ========
  52.   Multiple user defined titlebar buttons - assign a predefined action to
  53.    them or launch any PM, Dos or Windows program. Place them on the left
  54.    or the right side of the titlebar. Redesign the button bitmaps.
  55.   Over 30 useful predefined actions.
  56.   Window actions include close, rollup, next, previous, move, size, task list
  57.   Edit actions include cut, copy, copy all, paste and clear. These actions
  58.    are available in any PM window or any command line window. Copy all
  59.    will copy the entire text in a PM multi-line entry field with a single click
  60.    - no need to mark it first! Copy from static text or the titlebar!
  61.   Folder actions include open parent, open parent and close, sort,
  62.    arrange and refresh.
  63.   User defined middle and right mouse buttons - assign them with the
  64.    same actions available for the titlebar buttons. Plus, you can assign the
  65.    right or left mouse button double click action to a single mouse button
  66.    or a key  - never have to double click again!
  67.   Keyboard keys can also be assigned any predefined action.
  68.   User defined popup menus for edit and folder actions. Copy and paste
  69.    or sort a folder with almost no mouse movements.
  70.   Full OS/2 and Dos command window support, including font size and
  71.    full screen actions. And finally, the feature you've been waiting for from
  72.    IBM - bypass that pesky "are you sure" dialog when closing a command
  73.    line window.
  74.   Other available actions that can be assigned are Xit task list (single
  75.    click to another program), OS/2 task list, LaunchPad, and Help.
  76.   Works with any desktop manager - WPS, FileBar, Mdesk, etc.
  77.   Configurable titlebar clock on the active window and the Desktop. Show time
  78.    or time and date, show seconds and/or am/pm. Uses your country format time
  79.    and date settings.
  80.   International versions for German, French, Danish, Japanese, Chinese,
  81.    Finnish and Norwegian. More languages are in the works - just a simple .DLL
  82.    upgrade when available.
