PmSwitch V2.0 is a 32bit PM application written using emx0.8g for
OS/2 2.x. PmSwitch does not require the presence of the emx*.dll files.
PmSwitch is written beacause I missed the alt-tab feature in windows 3.1
The only thing in OS/2 that resembles this feature is the alt-esc sequence.
But using the alt-esc sequence often means that OS/2 switches into
graphics mode on the way to the desired task. This can be quiet time
consuming, beside that I personaly find this annoying. I therfore have
written PmSwitch. Using PmSwitch you can mask tasks from the alt-esc sequence.
This means that if you mask all tasks except the one you work with, alt-esc
will become much more usable as a tool for switching *fast* between screen
groups. After releasing V1.0 i got sevral messages to make the pmswitch
program configurable so that it could run unattended at system
startup. So here it is: V2.0
To use PmSwitch just select the task titles you want to remove from the
alt-esc queue. After you are done just press the OK button.
To configre Pmswitch press the configure key. This will result in a
new dialog box used to save the exclude wildcards pmswitch uses to
mask tasks from the alt-esc sequence. The wildcards is case
insensitive so that the following wildcard 'desk' will match Desktop,
Desk, FooDesk and so on.. From the right combo box you can select
active tasks as wildcards or you can type in your own. When you press
Save the active wildcards is saved in the OS2.INI file so that they
can be easely read by Pmswitch.
When Pmswitch runs it will reread the task list every 30 Seconds and
reapply the wildcards.
To have Pmsitch automaticly minimize itself at startup just add dummy argument to pmswitch.exe
PmSwitch is freeware, not public domain. This means that you can use/copy
PmSwitch as mutch as you want as long that you dont charge anything for it.
I am not making any guaraties about PmSwitch. You use PmSwitch soly at
your own risk. However I don't thisk that PmSwitch would case serious harm
to your system.
