Program Object Maker
By: Bill Komanetsky (CIS: 73227,1730)
Description:
This little program will sit on your OS/2 Warp desktop and do nothing.
However....
When you drag an executable file from one of your drive folders to it, the
program springs to life and creates a program object on your your desktop
automatically. No more opening the templates folder and dragging a program
object to the desktop, then answering a bunch of questions. Just
drag and Drop.
Try it out!
Installation:
- Copy the files:
PGMOBJ.EXE
PGMOBJ.ICO
to any directory on your hard drive.
- Open the Templates folder and drag a Program object to your desktop. The
settings notebook for this program should automatically open.
- Type in the PGMOBJ.EXE file name with a path in the Path and File
name entry line on the first page of the Program Tab of the Settings
notebook. Example:
C:\OS2TOOLS\PGMOBJ.EXE
- You don't really need a Working directory.
- Go to the General Tab and change the name of the program object to:
Program Object Maker
or, anything you like.
- Close the Settings notebook - Your Done.
- To verify your installation, make sure the programs Icon displays
correctly.
Usage:
- Drag any .EXE, .CMD, .COM, or .BAT file from one of your Drives folders
over the Program Object Makers Icon located on your desktop.
- Afterwards, a new program object will be created with a default name. Also
a Status window will be displayed telling you that the program has been
created successfully, or if an error occurred. Press the OK button to
close this window.
- You can even drag Multiple program objects at one time!
