  1. 1/29/96  -  Object Desktop 'like' controls

  4. This archive is meant for use with CHG_CTLS (any version).
  5. It will alter your control buttons to look more like the
  6. controls used in Object Desktop. The controls are not an
  7. exact replica in any means, but an interpretation by me
  8. of the controls I saw in an .GIF file of the OD desktop.
  9. Some of the controls are different, and the colors are
  10. different, but for the most part they look similar!

  12. Installation

  14. Replace the CTLS.RES file in this archive with the one in
  15. the CHG_CTLS program and then follow the directions of the
  16. CHG_CTLS program.
  17. Replace the NPSWPSCB.BMP with the NPS WPS 'X' close button
  18. to finish the whole effect.

  20. Problems

  22. I could have altered the controls for the settings notebook
  23. as well, but it seems that IBM has programmed the PM so that
  24. these controls are scaled by some means.
  25. For example, in 800x600 when I open the Desktop's settings
  26. notebook, the 'left' and 'right' arrow buttons at the bottom
  27. right of the notebook look squished and rounded. This is due
  28. to the settings notebook rescaling them. In reality, the
  29. .BMPs for these two controls are crisp and sharp looking
  30. arrows.
