This is introduction to program INIedit. You may change copy and delete OS/2 INI files. In Safe Mode (this is default) you may only view files. You may create, copy, edit and delete application and keys. You may copy applications and keys between INI files. Program may be customized as you wish - set Safe Mode ON or OFF, change bitmaps in toolbar, associate program with *.INI files.E
General
This is general help. If you move pointer over controls - icons or windows, you will get short explanation about this control. If you select page in this NoteBook, you will get explanation about selected function, or menu item.
File menu - Open, save and delete file. Open File - select file from list, or push Other button. It opens standard FileOpen dialog and allows you to select other file. Rescan selected drive(s) and rebuild FileList, if you installed, or removed programs on your computer. SaveAs File - CHANGE NAME AND SAVE FILE BEFORE EDITING. Delete File - delete file. Exit - The End.
If SafeMode is OFF, pressing Enter loads PopUp menu with options: New, Copy, Copy to App, Edit, HEXedit, Export, Import, Delete. All of this options are available by pressing buttons in Key Window. New Key - creates new key in this (parent) application. Copy Key - copies selected key and and value to other key in this (parent) application in selected file. Key to other Application- copies selected key and value in this (parent) application to other application in selected file. Edit Key (ASCII or HEX)- changes value of selected key. Export Key - copies selected key and value into TRANSFER.INI. Import Key - copies key and value from TRANSFER.INI. Delete - deletes key.w
If SafeMode is OFF, pressing Enter loads PopUp menu with options: New, Copy, Export, Import, Delete. All of this options are available by pressing buttons in the bottom of Application Window. New Application - creates new application in same file with one dummy key (named Key). After adding key(s) in this application, you may delete this dummy key. Copy Application - copies selected application and all keys to other application. Export Application - copies selected application and all keys into same application in file TRANSFER.INI. Import Application - copies selected application from file TRANSFER.INI into current file. Delete Application - deletes selected application and all keys into this file.
Set Safe Mode to ON unless you need to do some action. After that set SafeMode again to ON. You may change bitmaps (in subdirectory bitmap) if you wish. File TRANSFER.INI is used as clipboard. You can simply delete it, if it grows. Next time, when you export data (apps or keys), file TRANSFER.INI will be created. P
