  1.                                SOFTWARE CATALOG              November 11, 1990
  2.
  3.
  4.     The following is a list of software available for DOS and OS/2. If you
  5. would like any of these programs, please complete the enclosed order form.
  6.
  7.    In the listing, unless otherwise noted, DOS versions require MS-DOS or PC-
  8. DOS, version 2.0 or later, and OS/2 versions require OS/2, version 1.0 or
  9. later.  The OS/2 versions do not require Presentation Manager (PM), though you
  10. can run them in PM text windows.  Not all programs have both DOS and OS/2
  11. versions (yet).  The available versions are shown in parentheses.  All prices
  12. are in U.S. dollars.
  13.
  14.     DISCOUNTS.  "Economy Packs" are available at substantial savings for both
  15. DOS and OS/2.  Each contains ALL the programs available on the order form for
  16. that particular operating system.  See the order form for pricing details.  In
  17. addition, site licenses at reduced unit cost are available for commercial,
  18. governmental, and other organizations.  Contact the author for details.
  19.
  20. ______________________________________________________________________________
  21.
  22. AMAZEMENT.  This amusing program draws mazes to dimensions you specify.  Great
  23. for keeping the kids occupied on long car trips.  Requires graphics adapter
  24. (and a printer & screen print program, if you want to print the mazes).
  25. ______________________________________________________________________________
  26.
  27. ATTRIBUTION.  Changes or displays file attributes (hidden, system, read only
  28. and archive).  Protect your software and data from accidental (or malicious)
  29. deletion, or hide sensitive directories or files.  This is a replacement for
  30. the DOS ATTRIB program.  Unlike ATTRIB, ATTRIBUTION can set or remove the
  31. "hidden" attribute.
  32. ______________________________________________________________________________
  33.
  34. BACKUP.  Fast, intelligent file backup utility.  File backups are your
  35. insurance policy against the inevitable hard disk crash, and against malicious
  36. software such as viruses and worms.  BACKUP copies only those files which
  37. doesn't exist on the archive drive, or whose date-time stamp is more recent
  38. than existing files on the archive drive.  Options to clear archive bit on
  39. copied files, check disk volume labels before copying, and to backup from all
  40. directories on the disk (or just from the current and subordinate
  41. directories).
  42. ______________________________________________________________________________
  43.
  44. THE DIRECTORY RENAMER.  Renames directories, quick and easy.  Eliminates need
  45. to create a new directory, copy files from the old directory, delete the old
  46. files, and delete the old directory.
  47. ______________________________________________________________________________
  48.
  49. THE DISK DIRECTOR.  Fast, easy way to display and record your disk directory
  50. structure.  Use the data for rebuilding your disk after a crash, or setting up
  51. new systems with similar structure.
  52. ______________________________________________________________________________
  53.
  54. THE DUPLICATE FILE FINDER.  Find duplicate files on your disk so you can
  55. delete them and free up space.  If you're like most people, you'll be amazed
  56. at how many duplicate copies of files are hiding in the nooks and crannies of
  57. your hard disk.
  58. ______________________________________________________________________________
  59.
  60. EXCEPT.  Exempts files from the actions of DOS commands.  Great when you want
  61. to affect some, but not all, files in a directory.  For example, if you wanted
  62. to delete all files in the current directory except those with extensions of
  63. "DOC," you would enter EXCEPT *.DOC DEL *.*
  64. ______________________________________________________________________________
  65.
  66. THE FILE MOVER.  Move files between directories or disk, quick & easy.
  67. Makes organizing your hard disk a snap.  For interdirectory moves, you don't
  68. have to go through the copy-and-delete cycle, so the program is extremely
  69. fast, and works even on full disks.  You also don't leave a deleted copy
  70. behind on the disk for snoopy people to look at later.  Options to overwrite
  71. existing target files without asking, to delete read only source files without
  72. asking,  and (for interdisk moves) to securely overwrite deleted source files.
  73. ______________________________________________________________________________
  74.
  75. GETKEY.  Accepts a user keystroke in a batch file, then reports the ASCII code
  76. as an ERRORLEVEL.  Great for having the user answer questions or make menu
  77. selections.  Options for checking input against edit mask, making user press
  78. Enter, flushing keyboard buffer, hiding cursor, disabling ^C and ^Break,
  79. capitalizing the key, echoing it to the screen, and beeping after invalid
  80. input.
  81. ______________________________________________________________________________
  82.
  83. GLOBALLY.  Executes a command in multiple directories.  For example, if you
  84. wanted to get a listing of all the files on your disk, you would enter
  85. GLOBALLY DIR.  Option to operate only in current & all subordinate
  86. directories.
  87. ______________________________________________________________________________
  88.
  89. THE MAKE GENERATOR.  Generates MAKE & LINK files for C language programs.
  90. Eliminate the drudgery (and errors) of manually building MAKE and LINK files.
  91. Designed for programmers working in C, but the program has enough generality
  92. that it will work for many other compilers, as well.
  93. ______________________________________________________________________________
  94.
  95. THE PROGRAM LAUNCHER.  Makes the user enter a string, then passes the string
  96. as an argument to a user specified program, which is then executed.  Use it to
  97. get user input (e.g., passwords, file name, etc.) before starting a program.
  98. Options to hide input, restrict input length, compare input to an edit mask,
  99. verify input, etc.
  100. ______________________________________________________________________________
  101.
  102. ROOM.  Tells how much space is left on a disk, much faster and without the
  103. disk thrashing the DOS CHKDSK program goes through.  Find out how close you
  104. are to filling up your disk.  ROOM can also tell whether there's space on the
  105. disk for a set of files you specify.  Use ROOM in a batch file to see if
  106. there's enough space on the disk before trying to copy files onto it.  Unlike
  107. some other programs which purport to do the same thing, ROOM takes into
  108. account existing file by the same name on the disk.
  109. ______________________________________________________________________________
  110.
  111. STRINGER.  A demonstration program to help train personnel in use of the OS/2
  112. Presentation Manager (PM).  Draws string art in a PM window.  Also useful for
  113. demonstrating machine capabilities or taking advantage of idle CPU time.
  114. Hypnotic and addicting!
