  7. Read the documentation (view WATCHCAT.INF) and install with INSTALL.
  8. Start watchcat.exe to have a look at the program.
  9.  
  10. WatchCat is a program for OS/2 2.x / 3.x that makes it possible to recover
  11. from system hangs that block keyboard and mouse input. WatchCat can be
  12. activated by a hotkey or a hardware switch.

  15. NOTE:
  16.  
  17. - WatchCat's keyboard activation mechanism is not compatible with the use
  18.   of PS/2 (bus-) mice. In such cases, use other mechanisms.
  19.  
  20. - WatchCat might disable some APM functionality. Turn off WatchCat with
  21.   the WPS object to enter hibernation or suspend mode.
  22.  
  23. - On some computers, there are keyboard problems with the keyboard
  24.   activation mechanism. This is due to a timing problem in OS/2's
  25.   keyboard drivers. Use the non-device-driver hotkey mechanism or choose
  26.   an alternative input method like joystick.

  28. - The new Process Manipulation Center lets you kill processes by forcing
  29.   them to generate a breakpoint exception, kill, suspend, resume and change
  30.   priorities of single threads of running processes. The unregistered
  31.   version of WatchCat only features a demo version of this tool (you can
  32.   use above features only five times).
