  5.   performance. Data is collected for analysis to provide the

  40.   Optimize IBM LAN SERVER. "Make your server serve"
  41.   Collect statistics about resource and user activity.  Easily
  42.   analyze them and improve performance and anticipate capacity
  43.   problems.

  46.   WATCHIT automates collection of IBM LAN SERVER capacity and
  47.   performance statistics. WATCHIT will help you quickly and
  48.   easily improve performance and anticipate capacity problems.
  49.   Collection may be automated at the server or manually
  50.   controlled from your desktop.  Thresholds will generate
  51.   warning messages during data collection or notification via
  52.   generic alerts, NET.ERR logging or simple messages.  WATCHIT
  53.   graphs mean response, sessions, shares, bytes transferred,
  54.   print jobs, big buffer and request buffer allocations. Graphs
  55.   direct you to the detail information needed to improve
  56.   performance and expand capacity. IBMLAN.INI parameters can be
  57.   compared to the collected statistics to assist you in making
  58.   the proper settings.  Session analysis provides information
  59.   to determine the number of connections required and file
  60.   opens.  Analyze ALIAS access.  Statistical data is exportable
  61.   for use in your favorite spreadsheet or database for further
  62.   analysis or archiving.  The on-line manual includes operation
  63.   suggestions to help you "make your server serve".
