  5. (Note: This is a brand new program. The changes/additions listed below 
  6. refer to older generations of the Automated Episode Guide "engine", but
  7. not to older versions of this specific program)
  8.  
  9. Changed the default program icon from a generic "PM A.E.G." icon to
  10. one that is customized for the particular A.E.G. program. This allows
  11. people who have more than one OS/2 P.M. A.E.G. on their system to tell
  12. the programs apart by their icons.
  13.  
  14. Removed all of the episode data from the program executable. It is now
  15. stored in external data files. Users of the Automated EpGuides probably
  16. won't be able to even tell the difference. Your hard drive light will
  17. flicker once when you choose an episode to view (the program is reading
  18. the episode data and placing it into the EpData dialog). What this change
  19. means in the long-run: a smaller, more-efficient .EXE file; this also
  20. makes my job a whole lot easier, therefore I'll be able to code updates
  21. in a fraction of the time.

  23. Contains the complete Voyager episode information through the end of
  24. Season 2.

  26. Added a REXX .CMD installation script. After unzipping the A.E.G. .ZIP
  27. file into a permanent directory, run AEG_INST.CMD to automatically create
  28. a desktop object for the PM A.E.G. program.
  29.  
  30. Totally redesigned the episode information dialogs to make them a lot 
  31. easier to read.

  33. Added an Online Help system. After the A.E.G. window appears on the desktop,
  34. you can hit the F1 key to bring up the Online Help file.
  35.  
  36. Added an Offline Help file to the archive. This file is in .INF format
  37. and can be read from the OS/2 command line using the view.exe command; 
  38. or clicked on from a drives object. It is the same help file as the .HLP 
  39. file, but it can be viewed offline, or stored with other .INF files if 
  40. you maintain a Help Book Library on your system.

  42. Added a Context Sensitive Popup Menu. After the A.E.G. window appears on
  43. the desktop, you can click your right mouse button anywhere within the
  44. A.E.G. PM window and a menu of commands will popup. These are basically
  45. the same set of commands that appear on the menu bar.

  47. Added a Tool/Button Bar to the PM window. The new row of buttons directly
  48. under the menu bar perform some of the same actions as items appearing on
  49. the HELP and EXIT menus.  
  50.  
  51. Added four new buttons that weren't on the earlier versions of the Toolbar!
  52. The NEXT EPISODE, PREVIOUS EPISODE, NEXT SEASON and PREVIOUS SEASON Toolbar
  53. buttons greatly simplify maneuvering through the huge amount of episode data!
  54. (I did these for me, the lazy programmer, and passed the helpful feature on 
  55. to you, the end user!)

  57. Added a Floating Help Window system ("Toolbar Tips"). If the mouse pointer 
  58. hesitates over any of the buttons on the Tool Bar, a small, descriptive 
  59. label will pop up telling you what action that button performs.

  61. Redesigned the ABOUT dialog to give it the look and feel of the ABOUT
  62. dialog from the Win16 and Win32 Automated EpGuide program.
