<<<TuneUp Version 1.0 Copyright IBM 1993>>>
=========================================================
TuneUp is a tool to assist administrators of IBM LAN Server version
2.0 and 3.0 with the performance and tuning of their LAN Server
environments. It offers an easy interface where users are prompted
for questions and then recommendations are calculated and supplied
back in an ASCII file.
All focus is on the server being tuned. Questions and
values apply ONLY to the server in question.
For example: additional servers would ONLY apply if the
server being tuned is a domain controller.
=========================================================
LAN Server Version: Please indicate which version
of OS/2 LAN Server is running at the machine.
---------------------------------------------------------
Number of LAN Adapters: Indicate the number of LAN
adapters being used by the IBM LAN Server.
---------------------------------------------------------
DMA Adapter(s)?: Indicate whether your adapters are a

across a bridge. Otherwise indicate 'No'.

will be asked more questions later.

Additional Servers: This ONLY applies if the
server is a domain controller. Indicate the
number of additional servers that are attached to
the domain controller.
---------------------------------------------------------
OS/2 Requesters: Indicate how many OS/2 requesters are
using this server.
---------------------------------------------------------
DLR without Windows: Indicate the number of DLR's that
use this server but do NOT use Microsoft Windows* on
this server.
---------------------------------------------------------
DLR with Windows: Indicate how many DLR's are using
Microsoft Windows* at this server.
---------------------------------------------------------
PCLP Requesters: (PC DOS LAN Program) Indicate the number of
PCLP requesters accessing this server.
---------------------------------------------------------
Applications: Indicate the number of applications shared
at this server.

File Aliases: Indicate the number of file aliases that
are created at this server.
---------------------------------------------------------
Printer Aliases: Indicate the number of printer aliases
that are created at this server.
---------------------------------------------------------
Concurrent Heavy File Users: This number reflects the
maximum number of users that demand large file
I/O from this server AT A GIVEN TIME. In other
words, how many users demand large volumes of
files simultaneously.
---------------------------------------------------------
Sizreqbuf: This is a parameter from [SERVER] section of
the IBMLAN.INI file. Look the value up and
supply it here. The default is 4096.
