Program: SMALLW.EXE
Purpose:
This program was written to start a shareable copy of Windows under OS/2.
The program was tested under WARP (3.0). When the program is started, it
will come up minimized and there is really no need to maximized the
program. On my home machine, (386/40) it cuts down the time it takes to
start a Windows app from 10 seconds to around 3.
Installation:
1) Copy the program SMALLW.EXE to the directory you wish it to live in.
2) Go to the Desktop and open the Templates folder.
3) Drag a program object out and onto the Desktop.
4) When the Program setting object comes up, type in the program name.
ie If you moved the object to d:\bin directory, you would type in
d:\bin\smallw.exe
5) Go to the "General" tab and changed the name of the object to whatever
name you would like.
6) Close the program object.
7) Open the OS System folder.
8) Open the StartUp folder. FYI this is the folder that contains apps
that you want to start up at boot time. I tried using a "START" command
in the STARTUP.CMD file and this did not work correctly for me.
9) Drag the new program object you just created into the StartUp folder.
10) Re-boot your system to test.
CHEAPWARE:
I wrote this app for my own use. If you think I did a good job, and
would like to reward me for it, then send $5 dollars to the below
address, $10 if you want on my Christmas card list <GRIN>, and $150
for a site license.
