ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. System Profile: System ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

System Profile provides you with an easy to organize repository for a variety
of system- and user-specific information that might not be readily available
otherwise.  The System Profile notebook comes with many predefined fields to
help simplify organization and entry of this data.  The System Profile notebook
also features many user-definable fields to help you customize the System
Profile to meet your individual needs.

System Profile's data can be saved to an ASCII file.  This data can also be
gathered by a Netfinity Manager using the System Information Tool and exported
to a Netfinity database.  The combination of System Information Tool's
sophisticated hardware information gathering abilities with System Profile's
extensive selection of system- and user-specific data fields results in an
extraordinarily flexible and useful system inventorying and information
facility.  For information on how to export System Profile data to a Netfinity
database, see the System Information Tool online help.

The System section of the System Profile notebook features many predefined
fields to help you organize the information specific to your system, display,
printer, and modem.

To enter and save data:

   1. Enter the data you want to save in the appropriate fields.

      Select a field and type in the appropriate data.  The System section is
      three pages long.  There are a variety of predefined fields on each of
      these pages. To change pages, select one of the small arrows at the lower
      right corner of the page (select the right-pointing arrow to advance one
      page, and the left-pointing arrow to go back one page).  You do not need
      to fill in all of the available fields.

   2. Close the System Profile notebook.

      When you have finished entering information, double-click on the upper
      left corner of the System Profile notebook to save your information and
      close the notebook.

 Select Undo to reset the current page's fields to their last saved value.
 Selecting Undo will not have any affect on the other pages in the notebook.

 To close the notebook without saving any changes, select Close Without Saving
 from the Options pull-down menu.

      these pages. To change pages, select one of the small arrows at the lower
      right corner of the page (select the right-pointing arrow to advance one
      page, and the left-pointing arrow to go back one page).  You do not need
      to fill in all of the available fields.

   2. Close the System Profile notebook.

      left-pointing arrow to go back one page).  You do not need to fill in all
      of the available fields.

   2. Close the System Profile notebook.

Use the Options to Refresh the System Profile notebook, Print To File, or to
Close Without Saving changes to the notebook.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Refresh ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Select Refresh to update the information that is displayed by the System
Profile notebook.  Changes can be made to the notebook's contents by other
users while you are viewing it, and selecting Refresh will update the data
displayed in the System Profile notebook's fields.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Print To File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Select Print To File to save all information contained in the System Profile
notebook to an ASCII text file.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Close Without Saving ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Select Close Without Saving to close the System Profile notebook without saving
any changes to its contents.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. Undo ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Select Undo to reset the current page's fields to their last saved value.  Undo
only affects the current page, and has no effect on the other pages in the
notebook.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Key Assignments ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

When two key names are joined by a plus sign (+), use these two keys together.
Hold down the first key and press the second.

 Tab
    Move the cursor to the next tab stop.

 Shift+Tab
    Move the cursor to the previous tab stop.

 Alt+Page Down
    Move the cursor to the next page.

 Alt+Page Up
    Move the cursor to the previous page.

 Alt+Down Arrow
    Move the cursor to the notebook page from a notebook tab.

 Alt+Up Arrow
    Move the cursor from the notebook page to a notebook tab.

 F1
    Display specific help for the active window.  The help is related to the
    position of the cursor or the action you can perform in the window.

 Alt or F10
    Move the cursor to or from the menu bar.

 Alt+Spacebar
    Switch to the window's pull-down menu which contains choices that affect
    the window.

 Underlined letter
    Move the cursor to and select a choice by typing the underlined letter, for
    example, in the menu bar.

 Alt+F4
    Close the active window.

 Ctrl+Alt+Del
    Restart the operating system on the local system.
