RouteXpander/2 may be installed on your workstation from either the product
diskettes or from a Remote Server.
To install RouteXpander/2 from diskette, insert RouteXpander/2 disk 1 into the
A drive and type A:INSTALL to start the installation program. When the main
panel appears click on the Install button to being the process.
To install RouteXpander/2 from a Remote Server, you first need to copy the
RouteXpander/2 product diskettes to an OS/2 workstation using the Server
installation Utility program (GSDSRVI.EXE) located on disk 1.
For more information on installing RouteXpander/2 please see the RouteXpander/2
Users Guide.

Select this button to begin installation of RouteXpander/2.
In addition to copying the RouteXpander/2 files, Install will also start NTS/2
LAPS to configure RouteXpander/2 bridge and router drivers.

Select this button to configure RouteXpander/2. Note that NTS/2 LAPS will be
started to configure the RouteXpander/2 bridge and router drivers.

Select the View Readme button to display the RouteXpander/2 README.TXT file.
This file contains important information about the installation and
configuration of this product and is not in the product Users Guide.

must restart the workstation to start RouteXpander/2.

RouteXpander/2 may be configured by selecting the Configure button from the
main window.
Configuration can be done immediately after installing RouteXpander/2, or at
anytime thereafter by starting the RouteXpander/2 Configuration icon in the
RouteXpander/2 desktop folder.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.8. Enable SNMP Management ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enable SNMP Management to allow RouteXpander/2 to be managed by a SNMP Manager
like NetView/6000. To use SNMP Management, TCP/IP for OS/2 must be installed
and running in this workstation. You must also specify the IP address or
hostname of the SNMP manager in the entry field.
RouteXpander/2 provides a sub-agent for the SNMP agent delivered with the OS/2
TCP/IP product. It extends the Management Information Base (MIB) support
available in the product to include additional MIBs and, hence, to enable an
OS/2 node for SNMP management.
Support is provided for the following MIBs:
o The Frame Relay MIB (1.3.6.1.2.1.10.32)
o The Bridge MIB (1.3.6.1.2.1.17)
o The RS-232-Like MIB (1.3.6.1.2.1.10.33)
o The IPX router MIB

Enter the IP address or host name of the RouteXpander/2 workstation.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.10. Community Name ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the name used to register RouteXpander/2 MIB files.
The default name is public.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.11. Enable SNA Management ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select this option if SNA Management support is required. To use SNA
Management, OS/2 Communications Manager or OS/2 Extended Services must be
installed and running in this workstation.
If SNA Management is enabled, then the "Network Management Name for SNA Alerts"
should be set. This parameter is set in the "RouteXpander/2 Frame Relay support
for WAC" driver when you configure RouteXpander/2 drivers using NTS/2 LAPS.

Click on this button after selecting all of the required options in this
window.

Click on this button to reject any selections made, close the window and return
to the previous screen.
The configuration options displayed will not be saved.

RouteXpander/2 can be configured for SNMP management or SNA management or both.
Use the selections on this window to enable appropriate management of
RouteXpander/2. When done, select "Enter" to configure RouteXpander/2 bridge
and router drivers using NTS/2 LAPS.
Managing a bridge locally requires installation of the LAN Network Manager
Server option. This is a seperate installable function that provides
connectivity between the RouteXpander/2 Console application and the IBM LAN
Network Manager product. This feature allows you to remotely manage the bridge
while displaying bridge statistics via the Console.

Select this button to customize the X25 configuration files. Sample files are
provided with default values.

Select this button to configure the RouteXpander/2 LAN adapters and the
protocols to be used.

In addition to installing RouteXpander/2 from diskettes, it can also be
installed remotely from a RouteXpander/2 Code Server. The Code Server can be
any OS/2 workstation accessible by the RouteXpander/2 client workstation.

Enter the name assigned to the Code Server containing the RouteXpander/2 files.
This is the NETBIOS name the server is known by on the network.

This panel displays the install drive and path of where most of your
RouteXpander/2 files will be copied.
See the RouteXpander/2 Users Guide for a complete list of RouteXpander/2 files
and the directories they are copied to.

Select the sub-system(s) to be automatically started by the Console Application
when this workstation is rebooted.
Each sub-system may be started or stopped at anytime by RouteXpander/2 Console
Application. However, you may specify which sub-systems you want the Console
to automatically start each time it is restarted.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.24. Auto-Start Bridge Manager ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select this option to have the Bridge Manager automatically started by the
Console Application each time this workstation is started.
The interface between the Bridge Manager and IBM LAN Network Manager is
automatically enabled each time the Bridge Manager is started. This feature
provides critical information to the user via the Console Application.
Additional management functions are available from the Console through
installation of the IBM RouteXpander/2 LAN Network Manager Support product.

Select this option to have the X.25 Link Manager and Router automatically
started by the Console Application each time this workstation is started.

Select this option to have the Network Management Agent automatically started
by the Console Application each time this workstation is started.

Select all additional products to be installed on this workstation. To
reinstall an installed option, or to install another option, check the
appropriate box or boxes, then press Enter.
These options may be installed after installation of the RouteXpander/2 base
files, or at anytime thereafter when starting the Installation and
Configuration program from the workstation hard drive.
Please ensure that you have the appropriate diskette(s) for the options
selected.

Select this option to install the files required to enable the X.25 sub-system.

support function.

capabilities of the Bridge Manager sub-system and its communications with the
IBM LAN Network Manager and RouteXpander/2 Console Application.
