ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. RouteXpander/2 Remote Installation ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
RouteXpander/2 Remote Install feature allows for the installation of
RouteXpander/2 product on a workstation without the need for the product
diskettes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.1. Installing RouteXpander/2 on the Server ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
RouteXpander/2 Remote Install feature allows for the installation of
RouteXpander/2 on a workstation without the need to have the product diskettes.
This program will copy the files on the RouteXpander/2 diskettes into the
directory specified.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.1.1. Specifying the Install Directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You may enter the path on the server where the RouteXpander/2 product files are
to be copied or accept the default path shown in the entry field.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.1.2. Selecting the Install Drive ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select the drive on the server where the RouteXpander/2 files will be copied
to.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.2. Install Optional Features ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select all additional products to be installed on this workstation. To
reinstall an installed option, or to install another option, check the
appropriate box or boxes, then press Enter.
These options may be installed after installation of the RouteXpander/2 base
files, or at anytime thereafter when starting the Installation and
Configuration program from the workstation hard drive.
Please ensure that you have the appropriate diskette(s) for the options
selected.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.2.1. Installing X25 Support ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select this option to install the files required to enable the X.25 sub-system.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.2.2. Installing Multiport Support ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select this option to install the files required to enable the Multiport
support function.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.2.3. Installing LAN Network Manager Support ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select this option to install the files required to enhance the management
capabilities of the Bridge Manager sub-system and its communications with the
IBM LAN Network Manager and RouteXpander/2 Console Application.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.3. Remote Server Configuration ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
RouteXpander/2 Remote Server configuration panel.
This panel allows you to specify the SRVIFS configuration parameters used by
the RouteXpander/2 Remote Server function.
These values are stored in the SERVICE.INI file on one of RouteXpander/2 base
directories.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.3.1. RouteXpander/2 Remote Server Name ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
A NetBIOS name uniquely identifying this Remote Server is required for
communicating with RouteXpander/2 client workstations. Please enter a 1-8
character alphanumeric name that this server is to be know by on the network.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.3.2. Adapters ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This box contains a list of the logical adapters currently bounded by LAPS.
Select the adapter to be used by the Remote Server for communicating with
RouteXpander/2 clients.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.3.3. Client Workstation ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Specifies the maximum number of clients that are allowed to concurrently
connect to this server per adapter. Valid values are 1 to 100.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.3.4. Files Accessed ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Specifies the maximum number of files that the server may have open
concurrently. The default is 100, the maximum is 9999.
This value should be at least as large as the number of concurrent clients that
are expected to attach. In come cases, a single client may have more than one
file open at a time, in which case you may want to specify a value equivalent
to 3 to 4 files per client.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.4. Select Management Option ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This panel is displayed when the Server Installation Utility is started from
the hard disk rather than from diskette, and provides the functions necessary
for upgrading RouteXpander/2 base and Optional Support files.
It also allows you to install a CSD (Corrective Service Diskette) for later
access by RouteXpander/2 clients.
You may also view or modify some of the Remote Server configuration parameters.

SERVICE.INI. This file contains the configuration values used by the Code
Server program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.4.5. Create Client Installation DIskette ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on this button to create additional copies of RouteXpander/2 Client
Installation diskette. This diskette is used to install RouteXpander/2 from an
OS/2 Remote Code Server.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.4.6. View Installed Product Information ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on this button to display the release and version number of
RouteXpander/2 installed on the server, as well as any additional support/2
options.
