  4. Use QuickLaunch to preload a Windows session to allow PerfectOffice 
  5. applications to run faster. 
  6.  
  7. QLWIN supports the following command line switches: 
  8.  
  9.  1. /wpc=<directory> - used to specify the location of the shared code DLLs. 
  10.     If this option isn't specified, the directory specified by the 
  11.     \WPConfig\SHWin2X\Preferred entry in REG.DAT is used. 
  12.  
  13.  2. /wpcnt - used when the shared code directories are located on the network. 
  14.  
  15.    o "0" specifies that the shared code DLLs should not be loaded at all.  This 
  16.      option is normally used when a server install (of any application) exists. 
  17.      In order to allow the "WPCNET Settings" and "WPCNET Flagging" icons to 
  18.      load the proper BIF file, shared code cannot be loaded at all when they 
  19.      are executed. 
  20.  
  21.    o "1" through "60" specifies that QuickLaunch should periodically (every 1- 
  22.      60 seconds, depending on the parameter) check for the existence of the 
  23.      shared code DLLs.  Once they exist, they should be loaded.  This option is 
  24.      normally used when a workstation install (of any application) exists. 
  25.      Because QuickLaunch is normally loaded BEFORE a user logs on to the 
  26.      network, QuickLaunch needs to periodically check to see if the user has 
  27.      logged onto the network.  Once the user has logged on, the shared code 
  28.      DLLs can be loaded. 
  29.  
  30.      Note:  If this option is not specified at all, and the shared code DLLs 
  31.             cannot be located, QuickLaunch will immediately shutdown.

  36. You can use this program to install or uninstall OS/2 support for your 
  37. PerfectOffice applications and to view the README files.

  39. Click on one of the following options: 
  40.  
  41. o  Install - Installs OS/2 support for PerfectOffice 3.0 applications.

  43. o  Uninstall - Uninstalls OS/2 support for PerfectOffice 3.0 applications.

  45. o  README - Contains product information not contained in the online 
  46.   documentation.

  51. Use Install to install OS/2 integration tools for the following applications:

  53. o  WordPerfect 6.0a for Windows

  55. o  WordPerfect 6.1 for Windows

  57. To install the OS/2 integration tools,

  59.  1. Select the applications you want to integrate.

  61.     Note:   Only supported applications are listed.

  63.  2. Choose >> to view OS/2 Integration file locations (optional).

  65.  3. Choose Options to select alternatives that affect the OS/2 Integration 
  66.     Tools installation (optional).

  68.  4. Choose Install to begin the OS/2 Integration process.

  85. Note:  The File Location list button (>>) shows the last location the tools 
  86.        were installed to--you cannot change the OS/2 Integration Tools file

  92. You can use File Locations to view the location of the application.  You can 
  93. change the location of the files if they are incorrect.

  98. You can use File Locations to view the location of the application.  Since the 
  99. files are going to be removed, you cannot change their location.

  104. Use Options to customize the Install or Uninstall process.

  106. To select Options, 
  107.  
  108.  1. Choose Options from the Install or Uninstall dialog box, then select from 
  109.     the following options 
  110.  
  111.    o Place QuickLaunch icon in startup folder - This option will place 
  112.      QuickLaunch  in the startup folder so your application will start faster. 
  113.      If this option is not selected, QuickLaunch is placed in the Shared 
  114.      Applications Folder. 
  115.  
  116.    o Add SET RESTARTOBJECTS=STARTUPFOLDERSONLY to CONFIG.SYS - Changes the 
  117.      existing CONFIG.SYS file to start only those objects located in the 
  118.      startup folder when OS/2 is first started. 
  119.  
  120.    o Make backup copies of OS/2 system files - Copies of OS2.INI, CONFIG.SYS, 
  121.      and OS2SYS.INI are backed up with the .Wxx extension. 
  122.  
  123.    o Destroy existing objects before recreating them - Destroys, then recreates 
  124.      all objects from scratch.  It will also remove any objects that no longer 
  125.      exist on the hard disk.

  129. Note:  The Add SET RESTARTOBJECTS=STARTUPFOLDERSONLY to CONFIG.SYS option is 
  130.        dimmed (not available) when Uninstall options are selected. 
  131.  
  132.  The following four switches correspond to the checkboxes in the "Options" 
  133. dialog box: 
  134.  
  135.  1. /fixwps - destroys, then recreates all objects from scratch and will remove 
  136.     any objects that no longer exist on the hard disk. 
  137.  
  138.     Note:  This option works around a known OS/2 problem in the object 
  139.            installation and has been reported to IBM. 
  140.  
  141.  2. /norestartobjects - does not add SET RESTARTOBJECTS=STARTUPFOLDERSONLY to 
  142.     your  config.sys file. 
  143.  
  144.  3. /noquicklaunch - does not place QuickLaunch in the startup folder (it will 
  145.     be placed in the shared applications folder instead) 
  146.  
  147.  4. /nobackup - does not create backup copies of config.sys, os2.ini, and 
  148.     os2sys.ini before installing/uninstalling 
  149.

  153. Use Uninstall to remove OS/2 Integration Tools files and desktop objects from 
  154. selected applications. 
  155.  
  156. Note:  After uninstalling and rebooting, files that were converted by ADD to a 
  157.        WordPerfect file type may not be visable on the desktop (they are no 
  158.        longer recognized by the WorkPlace Shell). You can view and access these 
  159.        files from a DOS or OS/2 prompt.

  164. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Help for "Other applications are running" Warning ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
  165.  
  166. This dialog appears when the Uninstall program finds a WordPerfect application 
  167. or folder in the task list.  Make sure all WordPerfect applications and folders 
  168. are closed, then press Continue.  If Uninstall still won't begin, choose Ignore 
  169. (this will continue Uninstall without re-checking the task list).
