  2. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Help for Selecting Number of Adapters ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  4. Use this window to select the number of Mwave Adapters that you have installed 
  5. in your system. The maximum number of Mwave Adapters supported by MMPM/2 is 
  6. one. 
  7.  
  8. If you select zero, then you will de-install all Mwave Adapters that have been 
  9. previously installed by MMPM/2.

  12. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Help for selecting Mwave hardware settings ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  14. On this screen, you specify the hardware settings that you want to use with 
  15. your IBM Mwave Adapter. If you are using a Micro Channel system, such as an IBM 
  16. PS/2, you do not need to do this - just select OK. If you are using a non-Micro 
  17. Channel system, you must specify all three values. See your IBM Mwave Adapter 
  18. manual for a description of the possible hardware settings.

  20. If you choose Close from the system menu, the selected settings are set back to 
  21. their default values, which are valid only for a Micro Channel system.

  23. Select OK to save the selected settings and continue. 
  24.  
  25. Base Address 
  26.  
  27. This field allows you to select the base address for the IBM Mwave adapter that 
  28. you have installed in your system. The default is 'Micro Channel', which is 
  29. valid only if you are using a Micro Channel system, such as the IBM PS/2. 
  30. Otherwise, you must select from the other three values. Use the drop down box 
  31. to set the correct base address.

  33. The valid base addresses are: 
  34.  
  35. 4E30, 8E30, and CE30. 
  36.  
  37. If the device driver fails to initialize (during system reboot following 
  38. install), it might be necessary to change the interrupt level by performing a 
  39. reinstallation. 
  40.  
  41. DMA Channel 
  42.  
  43. This field allows you to select the DMA channel for the IBM Mwave adapter that 
  44. you have installed in your system. The default is 'Micro Channel', which is 
  45. valid only if you are using a Micro Channel system, such as the IBM PS/2. 
  46. Otherwise, you must select from the other three values. Use the drop down box 
  47. to set the correct DMA channel.

  49. The valid DMA Channels are: 
  50.  
  51. 5, 6, and 7 
  52.  
  53. If the device driver fails to initialize (during system reboot following 
  54. install), it might be necessary to change the DMA channel by performing a 
  55. installation.

  57. Interrupt Level 
  58.  
  59. This field allows you to select the interrupt level for the IBM Mwave adapter 
  60. that you have installed in your system. The default is 'Micro Channel', which 
  61. is valid only if you are using a Micro Channel system, such as the IBM PS/2. 
  62. Otherwise, you must select from the other two values. Use the drop down box to 
  63. set the correct interrupt level.

  67. 9 and 15
