ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Help for Selecting Number of Adapters ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this window to select the number of Mwave Adapters that you have installed
in your system. The maximum number of Mwave Adapters supported by MMPM/2 is
one.
If you select zero, then you will de-install all Mwave Adapters that have been
previously installed by MMPM/2.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Help for selecting Mwave hardware settings ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
On this screen, you specify the hardware settings that you want to use with
your IBM Mwave Adapter. If you are using a Micro Channel system, such as an IBM
PS/2, you do not need to do this - just select OK. If you are using a non-Micro
Channel system, you must specify all three values. See your IBM Mwave Adapter
manual for a description of the possible hardware settings.
If you choose Close from the system menu, the selected settings are set back to
their default values, which are valid only for a Micro Channel system.
Select OK to save the selected settings and continue.
Base Address
This field allows you to select the base address for the IBM Mwave adapter that
you have installed in your system. The default is 'Micro Channel', which is
valid only if you are using a Micro Channel system, such as the IBM PS/2.
Otherwise, you must select from the other three values. Use the drop down box
to set the correct base address.
The valid base addresses are:
4E30, 8E30, and CE30.
If the device driver fails to initialize (during system reboot following
install), it might be necessary to change the interrupt level by performing a
reinstallation.
DMA Channel
This field allows you to select the DMA channel for the IBM Mwave adapter that
you have installed in your system. The default is 'Micro Channel', which is
valid only if you are using a Micro Channel system, such as the IBM PS/2.
Otherwise, you must select from the other three values. Use the drop down box
to set the correct DMA channel.
The valid DMA Channels are:
5, 6, and 7
If the device driver fails to initialize (during system reboot following
install), it might be necessary to change the DMA channel by performing a
installation.
Interrupt Level
This field allows you to select the interrupt level for the IBM Mwave adapter
that you have installed in your system. The default is 'Micro Channel', which
is valid only if you are using a Micro Channel system, such as the IBM PS/2.
Otherwise, you must select from the other two values. Use the drop down box to
set the correct interrupt level.
The valid interrupt levels are:
9 and 15
If the device driver fails to initialize (during system reboot following
install), it might be necessary to change the interrupt level by performing a
reinstallation.
