  5. In order to avoid software inconsistencies, all the modules contained in
  6. this package must be applied to the machine being serviced.
  7.  
  8. As a precaution, the original modules should be renamed before applying
  9. the fix versions.
  10.  
  11. Some modules may be in use and may require booting from diskette in order
  12. to rename originals and apply fix updates.
  13.  
  14. The package also contains matching symbol files with the extension of
  15. .SYM. These files are only required for debugging purposes and do not
  16. need to be applied unless instructed by OS/2 Defect Support.
  17.  
  18. If modules are being applied for OS/2 RIPL requesters, the directories
  19. listed below will be preceded by \IBMLAN\RPL unless otherwise noted
  20. and will apply to the RIPL server of the requesters.

  28. If SDLC device driver sharing feature is desired and OS/2 ES 1.0
  29. or higher is installed, update the CONFIG.SYS with the following.

  31. DEVICE=C:\CMLIB\SDLCDD.SYS S
  32.  
  33. The "S" parameter tells the SDLC device driver to share
  34. interrupt levels.
