  5. Kitchen Assistant/2 is a recipe management program for OS/2.  Kitchen
  6. Assistant/2 provides the ability to search for recipes based on word(s) in
  7. the title, Group, or ingredient fields.  Advance search logic available 
  8. for complex searches.  Multiple recipe databases can be maintained. 
  9. Meal-Master recipe can be imported.

  11. This file contains important information to help you get the most from
  12. Kitchen Assistant/2. Please read the information provided below before
  13. using the program.

  18. Kitchen Assistant/2 is a copyrighted program.  It is not public domain or
  19. free software.  A limited license is granted for the purpose of determining
  20. suitability of the program.  Registration is required for any use beyond a
  21. 30 day evaluation period.  Unregistered copies of this program may be
  22. distributed providing that all the materials in this package are included
  23. in an unaltered form.  Kitchen Assistant/2 package may be distributed in 
  24. shareware collection as long as all the files are included in an unaltered
  25. form. Individual copies may not be sold or fees charged for more than the

  45.   ABOUT SHAREWARE

  47. Kitchen Assistant/2 is distributed as "Shareware". Shareware is not free
  48. software. It is a distribution to allow you to "try before you buy".  If
  49. you received Kitchen Assistant/2 from shareware distribution service, any
  50. fees you may have paid was for their service and materials only, and does
  51. not provide any compensation to the  author of Kitchen Assistant/2.  After
  52. evaluation, you are legally required to register the Kitchen Assistant/2
  53. program you have with the author if you decide to continue to use it.

  55. When registering Kitchen Assistant/2, you will also receive a personal
  56. registration number for the program, which can be used to register your

  64.   NEW INSTALLATION
  65.   ----------------
  66. To install Kitchen Assistant/2, unzip the kitchen.zip file into a the
  67. directory you want the program to be installed in or a temporary directory
  68. and execute the following command:
  69.  
  70.      INSTALL.CMD DirectoryPath <cr>
  71.         Where: DirectoryPath is the Drive and path to the directory
  72.                where you want the program to be installed in.
  73.  
  74. You will be prompted if the directory path is correct.  If the directory
  75. does not exist, it will be created.  When the path is correct, the program
  76. will be installed.  A program reference object will be generated for
  77. Kitchen Assistant/2 on your desktop.

  79.   UPGRADING
  80.   ---------
  81. If you are upgrading from a previous Kitchen Assistant/2 release, unzip the
  82. kitchen.zip file into a the directory where your previous version was located.
  83. Your kitchen.ini file will be updated if necessary.  The user option set in
  84. the options notebook will be saved to the new ini file.
  85.  
  86. if you are upgrading from a version previous to 1.0, you will also need to
  87. perform a pack operation on all your recipe files to convert the unit of
  88. measure to the new 1-3 character KA/2 standard.  If you do not the
  89. metric/USA conversion will not convert all the measures in your recipe. 
  90. The conversion routines depend on all measure to be converted to be in
  91. standard 1-3 character abbreviations.

  93.   ENTERING YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION
  94.   --------------------------------------
  95. If you have registered Kitchen Assistant/2 will have to enter the
  96. registration name, Serial number, and registration number into the 
  97. program if you have not done so.

  99. To do this start up Kitchen Assistant/2 by entering KITCHEN.EXE or click 
  100. on the program object.  When the Product Information Screen is displayed,
  101. Press the Register button.  You can also open the Product Information
  102. window by doing the following:
  103. Select the Help item in the menu bar, then select Product Information, and
  104. then press the Register button.
  105.  
  106. At this point enter the register name and registration number that was
  107. assigned to you.  Then press OK.

  125. about which recipe formats would you like to see KA/2 be able to import.  
  126. Currently KA/2 will import Meal-Master.  I will be adding more, but I would
