ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Run Diagnostics Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the Run Diagnostics window to select which diagnostic tests to run on the
system, to specify whether the tests will be run in looping mode, and to set
System Diagnostics Manager's error handling for this diagnostic session.
To configure a System Diagnostics Manager session:
1. Select which tests to run.
To run all of the available diagnostic routines, select Run All Tests.
If you want to test only specific subsystems, select Run Selected Tests
and then select one or more tests from the Tests to Run selection list.
2. Select a looping mode.
To run the diagnostic routines only once, select Single Run. To run the
diagnostic routines 2 or more times, select Repeat and use the spin
buttons beside the Iterations field to specify the number of times that
the diagnostic routines will be run.
3. Select an error handling mode.
To halt the diagnostic routines when an error is encoutered, select Stop
on Error. To record the error and continue with the specified diagnostic
routines, select Continue on Error.
4. Begin the diagnostic session.
Select Run to initiate the diagnostic session you have configured.
Select Exit at any time to close the Run Diagnostics window without initiating
a diagnostics session.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Tests to Run Group ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the selections available in the Tests to Run group to select which tests to
run. To run all of the available diagnostic routines, select Run All Tests. If
you want to test only specific subsystems, select Run Selected Tests and then
select one or more tests from the Tests to Run selection list.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Error Handling Group ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the selections available in the Error Handling group to select an error
handling mode. To halt the diagnostic routines when an error is encoutered,
select Stop on Error. To record the error and continue with the specified
diagnostic routines, select Continue on Error.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Looping Mode Group ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the selections available in the Looping Mode group to select a looping
mode. To run the diagnostic routines only once, select Single Run. To run the
diagnostic routines 2 or more times, select Repeat and use the spin buttons
beside the Iterations field to specify the number of times that the diagnostic
routines will be run.

Select Run to initiate the diagnostic session.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Exit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Exit to close the Run Diagnostics window without initiating a diagnostic
session.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Select Session Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the Select Session window to collect and view the results of a previously
run diagnostic session. This window shows all previously run diagnostic
sessions that are currently stored on the system. To view the results of one
of these sessions, select the session from the Select Session field and then
select OK.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. OK ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select OK to load and view the results of the selected session.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. Cancel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Cancel to close the Select Session window without loading the results of
a previously run session.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. System Diagnostics Manager ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
System Diagnostics Manager enables you to initiate a variety of diagnostic
tasks on systems that support ROM based diagnostics. The results of all
previously run diagnostic sessions are stored on the system and can be examined
using System Diagnostics Manager to help diagnose and resolve system problems.
The System Diagnostics Manager can run diagnostics on any of the following
system components:
o System Board
o Memory
o Keyboard
o Video
o Diskette
o Alternate (2nd) CPU
o Parallel
o Serial
o Ethernet
o SCSI
o RAID
o Mouse
The System Diagnostics Manager window features 7 columns of data for each
available diagnostic routine. These columns are:
o Diagnostic Test
o Result
o Time of Failure
o Error Code
o Failure Explanation
o Failure Address
o Failure Data
