ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. System Partition Access Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the System Partition Access task to configure a scheduled event that will
automatically update, backup, or delete specific files and directories from the
the System Partitions of all systems on which the scheduled event is performed.
You can configure a scheduled event to perform any one of the following
Actions:
o Delete Partition File
o Partition Backup
o Partition Restore
o Copy To Partition
o Copy From Partition
For detailed instructions regarding each of the available Actions, see the
individual Action's help topic.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. System Partition: Directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the name of the System Partition directory that will be accessed by this
action.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. System Partition: Filename ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the name of the System Partition file that will be handled by this
action.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Backup/Restore Filename: User Specified ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select User Specified if you want to specify what the backup file will be
named, or if you want to specify the name of a particular image that will be
used to restore the partition.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Backup/Restore Filename: System Generated ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select System Generated if you want the System Partition action to generate a
system-specific filename for the backup image, or if you want the System
Partition action to use the generated system-specific filename to select the
appropriate image to restore the partition.
The System Partition action creates a system-specific name for an image by
using the first four letters of a remote system's System Name, and then
applying a mathematical algorithm to the entire System Name to generate a four
digit alphanumeric string. These two parts are then combined to form a
filename for the image. For example, a System Partition backup image file of a
system named USER1 created by a Partition Backup scheduled event using the
System Generated Filename option will always be named USER11BN.IMG. This
ensures that similarly named systems will not generate identically named
partition backup images files, and that each system will generate the same
filename (or restore the same image) each time the scheduled event is executed.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Local System: Drive ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the drive letter of the local system that will be used for the selected
System Partition Access Action.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Local System: Directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the directory of the local system that will be used for the selected
System Partition Access Action.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Local System: Filename ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the filename of the file that will be used for the selected System
Partition Access Action.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Action Button Group ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the Action button group to select the specific action that will be
performed by the scheduled event. The available Actions are:
o Delete Partition File
o Partition Backup
o Partition Restore
o Copy To Partition
o Copy From Partition
Note that as you select each of these Action buttons, only the fields
necessary for proper configuration of this System Partition Access task remain
active.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. Delete Partition File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select the Delete Partition File Action to erase a specific file from the
