  2. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Service Configuration Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  4. Use the Service Configuration task to use Service Configuration Files (SCF 
  5. files) created using Service Configuration Manager to update or replace the 
  6. configuration used by specific Netfinity services. 
  7.  
  8. To configure your Service Configuration scheduled event: 
  9.  
  10.    1. Type in the field provided the full name of the Service Configuration 
  11.       File that contains the service configuration data you want to propagate 
  12.       to other systems. 
  13.  
  14.       The name you type in must be a filename that appears in the SCF 
  15.       subdirectory of your Netfinity installation directory, and the filename 
  16.       must match exactly, including the file's extension.  For example, an SCF 
  17.       file named ALERT.SCF must be netered in the field as ALERT.SCF.  If you 
  18.       type just ALERT, the service configuration update will fail. 
  19.  
  20.    2. Select a Merging setting. 
  21.  
  22.       Service Configuration events can apply changes specified in SCF files in 
  23.       one of two ways: 
  24.  
  25.         o  Overwrite Existing Configuration 
  26.  
  27.            Select Overwrite Existing Configuration if you want to completely 
  28.            replace the service-specific configuration on each remote system 
  29.            with the configuration defined in the specified SCF file. 
  30.  
  31.         o  Add to Existing Configuration 
  32.  
  33.            Select Add to Existing Configuration to append any configuration 
  34.            records that appear in the SCF file to the service conifguration 
  35.            that already exists on the remote system.

  37.    3. Select Save to save this information and continue configuring the 
  38.       scheduled event.

  43. Select Save to save your choices and continue configuring this scheduled event.
