ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. System Monitor Task-Specific Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this action to create a scheduled event that will collect system monitor
for a specified time period information from one or more remote systems. Once
collected, this information can be exported to a database or saved to a
database file.
To continue configuring your System Monitor scheduled event:
1. Select from the Monitors list the names of the monitors whose recorded
data will be exported to the database.
2. Use the spin buttons in the Export for Time Period fields to select the
number of hours, days, or weeks of recorded data that will be exported to
the database.
3. Select OK to save this information and open the Database Selection
window.
4. Select from the Database Entry Selection field the type of database data
export you want to perform.
This scheduled event enables you to handle the collected System Monitor
data in one of two ways.
o Export Information to a File
Select this option to export the information into a file that can
later be used to append the System Monitor data to an existing
Netfinity database.
If you select Export Information to a File:
a) Select OK to open the Save as File window.
b) Select a drive and directory where the file will be saved, and
then type in the Save as file name filed the name of the file
that will be created.
o Export Information to a Database
Select this option to export the information directly to a Netfinity
database to which the managing system is attached. If your system
is configured to export to multiple database systems (for example,
if your system can use both Lotus Notes and DB2 databases), there
will be one selection available for each type of database.
Note: This option will not appear if the managing system is not
attached to or configured to use a supported database system.
If you select Export Information to a Database:
a) Select OK to open the Database Selection window.
b) Select the database to which the System Monitor data will be
exported.
Select Cancel to close this window without saving your selections.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Export for Time Period ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the spin buttons in the Export for Time Period field group to select the
amount of minutes, hours, or days of data that will be exported to the
database.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Monitors ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select from the Monitors list the names of the monitors from which the data
will be exported.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. OK ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select OK to save your choices and continue configuring this scheduled event.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Cancel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
