ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. File Transfer Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this action to configure a scheduled event that will transfer an individual
file, an individual directory, or entire directory trees between the local
managing system and all selected remote systems. You can also use this window
to configure a scheduled event to delete specific local or remote files.
To continue configuring your File Transfer scheduled event:
1. Select an Action.
Available Actions are:
o Copy File
o Copy Single Directory
o Copy Nested Directories
o Delete Remote File
2. Select a Copy Direction.
If you are transferring a file or directory, select a Copy Direction. If
you are deleting a file, you do not need to select a Copy Direction.
3. Enter Local System and Remote System information.
Enter information regarding the source of the file to be transferred and
the target area to which the file will be transferred in the appropriate
fields. If you are deleting a file, you will only need to enter
information regarding the location of the file to be deleted.
4. Select Save.
Select Save to save this information and continue configuring the
scheduled event.
For detailed instructions regarding each of the available Actions, see the
individual Action's help topic.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Local System: Drive ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the drive letter of the disk drive that contains the file or directory to
be handled by the scheduled event on the local system.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Local System: Directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the name the directory to be handled or that contains the file to be
handled by the scheduled event on the local system. If you are handling a
sub-directory or a file that is contained in a sub-directory, be sure to enter
the full directory path.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Local System: Filename ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the name of the file to be handled by the scheduled event on the local
system.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Local to Remote ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Local to Remote to transfer a file or a directory from the local system
to one or more remote systems.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Remote to Local ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Remote to Local to transfer a file or a directory from a remote system
to the local system.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Remote System: Drive ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the drive letter of the disk drive that contains the file or directory to
be handled by the scheduled event on the remote system.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Remote System: Directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the name of the directory to be handled or that contains the file to be
handled by the scheduled event on the remote system. If you are handling a
sub-directory or a file that is contained in a sub-directory, be sure to enter
the full directory path.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Remote System: Filename ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the name of the file to be handled by the scheduled event on the remote
system.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. Actions ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the Action button group to select the specific file or directory handling
action to be performed by this scheduled event. You can select one Action.
Available Actions are:
o Copy File
o Copy Single Directory
o Copy Nested Directories
o Delete Remote File
Note that as you select each of these buttons, only the fields and buttons
necessary for proper configuration of this File Transfer scheduled event
remain active.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Copy File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Copy File to create a scheduled event that will automatically transfer a
specific file to or from the local system.
To configure a Copy File Action:
1. Select the Copy File radio button.
2. Select a Copy Direction.
o Select Local to Remote to transfer a file from the local system to
the remote systems.
o Select Remote to Local to transfer a file from the remote system to
the local system.
Note: Files transferred from remote systems to the local system will
not be renamed. A remote file that is transferred into a directory with
an identically named file will copy over that file.
3. Enter the Local System information.
o If you will be transferring a file to remote systems, enter the
Local System Drive, Directory, and Filename of the file that you
want to transfer.
o If you will be transferring a file from a remote system, enter the
Local System Drive and Directory that the file will be transferred
to.
4. Enter the Remote System information.
o If you will be transferring a file to a remote system, enter the
Remote System Drive and Directory that the file or directory will be
copied into.
o If you will be transferring a file from a remote system, enter the
Remote System Drive, Directory, and Filename of the file that you
want to transfer.
5. Select Save to save this information and continue configuring the
scheduled event.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 12. Copy Single Directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Copy Single Directory to create a scheduled event that will
automatically transfer a specific directory to or from the local system.
To configure a Copy Single Directory Action:
1. Select the Copy Single Directory radio button.
2. Select a Copy Direction.
o Select Local to Remote to transfer a directory from the local system
to the remote systems.
o Select Remote to Local to transfer a directory from the remote
system to the local system.
3. Enter the Local System information.
o If you will be transferring a directory to remote systems, enter the
Local System Drive and Directory that you want to transfer.
o If you will be transferring a directory from a remote system, enter
the Local System Drive and Directory that the directory will be
transferred to.
4. Enter the Remote System information.
o If you will be transferring a directory to a remote system, enter
the Remote System Drive and Directory that the transferred file or
directory will be copied into.
o If you will be transferring a directory from a remote system, enter
the Remote System Drive and Directory that you want to transfer.
5. Select Save to save this information and continue configuring the
scheduled event.
Note: If a directory is transferred to a system that has a pre-existing
directory of the same name, the target system's directory will be updated to
replace previously existing duplicate filenames and to include additional
files that might be contained in the transferred directory.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 13. Copy Nested Directories ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Copy Nested Directories to create a scheduled event that will
automatically transfer a specific directory and all of its sub-directories to
or from the local system.
To configure a Copy Nested Directories Action:
1. Select the Copy Nested Directories radio button.
2. Select a Copy Direction.
o Select Local to Remote to transfer nested directories from the local
system to the remote systems.
o Select Remote to Local to transfer nested directories from the
remote system to the local system.
3. Enter the Local System information.
o If you will be transferring a nested directory to remote systems,
enter the Local System Drive and Directory that you want to
transfer.
o If you will be transferring a nested directory from a remote system,
enter the Local System Drive and Directory that the nested
directories will be transferred to.
4. Enter the Remote System information.
o If you will be transferring a nested directory to a remote system,
enter the Remote System Drive and Directory that the nested
directories will be copied into.
o If you will be transferring a nested directory from a remote system,
enter the Remote System Drive and Directory of the nested directory
that you want to transfer.
5. Select Save to save this information and continue configuring the
scheduled event.
Note: If a directory is transferred to a system that has a pre-existing
directory of the same name, the target system's directory will be updated to
replace previously existing duplicate filenames and to include additional
files that might be contained in the transferred directory and all of its
nested directories.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 14. Delete Remote File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Delete Remote File to create a scheduled event that will automatically
delete a specific file from remote systems.
To configure a Delete Remote File Action:
1. Select the Delete Remote File radio button.
2. Enter the drive letter of the disk drive where the file to be deleted is
located in the Remote System Drive field.
3. Enter the directory path of the directory that contains the file to be
deleted in the Remote System Directory field.
4. Enter the name of the file to be deleted in the Remote System Filename
field.
5. Select Save to save this information and continue configuring the
scheduled event.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 15. Save ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Save to continue configuring your scheduled event.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 16. Cancel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Cancel to Close the File Transfer window without saving any information.
