The Netfinity* Service Manager displays all Netfinity* services installed on
the system and available for use. If you are using the Netfinity* Remote
System Manager service to access a remote system, the name of the remote system
is displayed in the title bar at the top of the Service Manager window. If no
system name is displayed, Netfinity* services available on your local system
are being displayed.
The available Netfinity* services are represented by icons in the Netfinity*
Service Manager window. To use a service, select the desired service with the
mouse, or use the arrow keys to select it and then press Enter.
Note: The Netfinity Manager File Transfer service and Remote Session service
are remote use only services. This means that their icons will only appear in
the Service Manager window if you are accessing a remote system with the Remote
System Manager. They will never appear in your local Service Manager window.
Note: Some Netfinity services require specific hardware or system
configurations to run locally. These services are:
o System Partition Access
Your system must have a System Partition.
o ECC Memory Setup
Your system must have ECC memory.
o Predictive Failure Analysis
Your system must have a PFA-enabled disk drive.
If your system does not have the required system components for a service to
run locally, the service's icon will not appear in your local Service Manager
window. However, the service will still be available for use when you access
a remote system that has the proper system components.
A brief description of the currently selected service icon appears at the
bottom of the Service Manager window. Extensive online help is available for
each service. To access a service's online help, start the service and
consult the help index.
