ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Perform Database Table Administration ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Netfinity Database Administration utility provides the following four
functions:
1. Create
Creates all of the tables required for the database export functions in
Netfinity to work.
2. Delete
Deletes all of the Netfinity database tables from an existing database.
3. Grant
Grants table privileges on all tables associated with a Netfinity
database.
4. Revoke
Revokes table privileges on all tables associated with a Netfinity
database.
Prior to executing these functions, the following conditions must be met:
o The Database Management System (DBMS) must be properly installed and
configured on the database server system.
o The target database must exist on the database server.
o A database User ID with sufficient authority to execute these functions
must be defined on the database server.
For administration from a remote client, the following additional conditions
must be met:
o The database server must be accessible to the client over the network.
o The DBMS client software must be properly installed and configured on the
client system.
o The database server and target database must be properly defined to the
client system.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. User ID ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the User ID for which privileges are to be granted. This field is valid
only for the Grant and Revoke functions.
Note: This is not the User ID used to connect to the database for executing
the Grant/Revoke request.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Privilege ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Check the Privileges that are to be Granted to or Revoked from the specified
User ID. Consult the product documentation for the selected DBMS for specific
information on the valid privileges and their meanings.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. DBMS ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Choose the DBMS associated with the database that is to be administered. The
selected DBMS must be appropriate for the target database or errors will occur.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Create ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Create to create the tables for Netfinity database exports.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Delete ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Delete to delete the Netfinity database export tables.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Grant ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Grant to set up table priviliges. The User ID and Privilege fields must
be filled in before clicking OK.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Revoke ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Revoke to remove table priviliges. The User ID and Privilege fields
must be filled in before clicking OK.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. OK Button ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select OK to perform the requested action. You will be prompted for a target
database and a User ID/Password combination for the database connection.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Cancel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Cancel to close this window without performing the table action.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 12. View Database Table Administration Results ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Database Table Administration Results dialog shows the results of the
requested table action. Each action is performed for all of the Netfinity
database tables in each component. Any errors encountered are shown in the list
box, followed by an entry to delimit the end of the requested action for each
database component.
