  9. The Netfinity Database Administration utility provides the following four 
  10. functions: 
  11.  
  12.    1. Create 
  13.  
  14.       Creates all of the tables required for the database export functions in 
  15.       Netfinity to work. 
  16.  
  17.    2. Delete 
  18.  
  19.       Deletes all of the Netfinity database tables from an existing database. 
  20.  
  21.    3. Grant 
  22.  
  23.       Grants table privileges on all tables associated with a Netfinity 
  24.       database. 
  25.  
  26.    4. Revoke 
  27.  
  28.       Revokes table privileges on all tables associated with a Netfinity 
  29.       database. 
  30.  
  31.  Prior to executing these functions, the following conditions must be met: 
  32.  
  33.    o  The Database Management System (DBMS) must be properly installed and 
  34.       configured on the database server system. 
  35.  
  36.    o  The target database must exist on the database server. 
  37.  
  38.    o  A database User ID with sufficient authority to execute these functions 
  39.       must be defined on the database server. 
  40.  
  41.  For administration from a remote client, the following additional conditions 
  42.  must be met: 
  43.  
  44.    o  The database server must be accessible to the client over the network. 
  45.  
  46.    o  The DBMS client software must be properly installed and configured on the 
  47.       client system. 
  48.  
  49.    o  The database server and target database must be properly defined to the 
  50.       client system.

  53. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. User ID ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
  54.  
  55. Enter the User ID for which privileges are to be granted.  This field is valid 
  56. only for the Grant and Revoke functions. 
  57.  
  58. Note:   This is not the User ID used to connect to the database for executing 
  59. the Grant/Revoke request.

  62. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Privilege ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  64. Check the Privileges that are to be Granted to or Revoked from the specified 
  65. User ID.  Consult the product documentation for the selected DBMS for specific 
  66. information on the valid privileges and their meanings.

  71. Choose the DBMS associated with the database that is to be administered. The 
  72. selected DBMS must be appropriate for the target database or errors will occur.

  77. Select Create to create the tables for Netfinity database exports.

  82. Select Delete to delete the Netfinity database export tables.

  87. Select Grant to set up table priviliges.  The User ID and Privilege fields must 
  88. be filled in before clicking OK.

  93. Select Revoke to remove table priviliges.  The User ID and Privilege fields 
  94. must be filled in before clicking OK.

  99. Select OK to perform the requested action.  You will be prompted for a target 
  100. database and a User ID/Password combination for the database connection.

  105. Select Cancel to close this window without performing the table action.

  108. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 12. View Database Table Administration Results ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  110. The Database Table Administration Results dialog shows the results of the 
  111. requested table action.  Each action is performed for all of the Netfinity 
  112. database tables in each component. Any errors encountered are shown in the list 
  113. box, followed by an entry to delimit the end of the requested action for each 
  114. database component.
