  9. To install the Netfinity* Manager and all Netfinity* services, follow these 
  10. steps: 
  11.  
  12.    1. Choose a drive and directory to install the Netfinity* Manager and 
  13.       Netfinity* service files from. 
  14.  
  15.       The drive letter and directory that the Netfinity* files will be copied 
  16.       from is displayed in the Install From field.  The Netfinity* installation 
  17.       program automatically sets the Install From drive letter and directory 
  18.       name as the drive and directory from which you started the Netfinity* 
  19.       installation program.  However, if you want to install from another 
  20.       directory that contains the Netfinity* services (for example, if the 
  21.       files are installed on a network drive), you can change the default. 
  22.  
  23.    2. Choose a drive and directory to install the Netfinity* Manager files to. 
  24.  
  25.       The drive letter and directory that the Netfinity* Manager program files 
  26.       will be copied to is displayed in the Install To field.  The default for 
  27.       this field is C:\NETFIN. 
  28.  
  29.    3. Select an installation configuration. 
  30.  
  31.       The Netfinity* Manager offers only one installation configuration, 
  32.       Netfinity Manager Installation.  This installation configuration copies 
  33.       the following Netfinity* services to your system: 
  34.  
  35.         o  Netfinity Service Manager 
  36.         o  Network Communication Protocols 
  37.         o  Remote System Manager 
  38.         o  Screen View 
  39.         o  Remote Command Shell 
  40.         o  File Transfer 
  41.         o  Alert Manager 
  42.         o  System Information Tool 
  43.         o  System Profile 
  44.         o  System Monitor 
  45.         o  Security Manager 
  46.         o  ECC Memory Setup 
  47.         o  System Partition Access 
  48.  
  49.       For information on each of these services, see their individual sections 
  50.       in the Netfinity Manager User's Guide, or consult their online helps 
  51.       after installation. 
  52.  
  53.       Note:   The base program files for ECC Memory Setup and System Partition 
  54.       Access will be installed regardless of whether or not your system has ECC 
  55.       Memory or a System Partition. This enables a network administrator to 
  56.       remotely access these services on other systems within a network. 
  57.       However, the users interface that allows local use of the service will 
  58.       only be installed if the required hardware or system configuration is 
  59.       present.

  61.    4. Install Netfinity Manager. 
  62.  
  63.       Select the Install button. The Netfinity* installation program will now 
  64.       begin copying the Netfinity* service program files to your system.  A 
  65.       window will appear, displaying the name of the file currently being 
  66.       copied, as well as the percentage of the installation which is complete. 
  67.       If you wish to halt the installation process at any time, select the 
  68.       Cancel button.  The Netfinity* installation program will stop copying 
  69.       files, clean up any open files, and then exit the installation program.

  71.    5. Configure the Network Drivers 
  72.  
  73.       For your system to operate on a network, you must configure the network 
  74.       communication drivers. A Network Driver Configuration window will appear 
  75.       on your screen after the Netfinity* program files have been copied. 
  76.       Enter the appropriate protocol-specific information for any communication 
  77.       protocols which are supported by your system. Also, you may need to enter 
  78.       one or more System Keywords  When you have finished configuring your 
  79.       system for network operation, select Exit of the Network Driver 
  80.       Configuration window.. 
  81.  
  82.    6. The Netfinity* installation program displays a list of commands that must 
  83.       be added to your CONFIG.SYS file for the Netfinity* services to run 
  84.       optimally and asks if you would like them added now. You may select Yes 
  85.       or No: 
  86.  
  87.         o  If you select Yes, the Netfinity* installation program automatically 
  88.            adds the commands to your CONFIG.SYS file. 
  89.  
  90.         o  If you select No, the commands are saved to a file named CONFIG.NEW 
  91.            in the Netfinity* directory, so that you can add them yourself after 
  92.            installation is complete.  Remember, these commands must be present 
  93.            for the Netfinity* services to function optimally. 
  94.  
  95.    7. Your installation is now complete.  Be sure to restart your system so 
  96.       that all changes to your CONFIG.SYS will take effect.

  101. The available installation configurations are displayed in the Netfinity* 
  102. installation program window. To choose an installation configuration, select 
  103. the radio button next to the desired configuration.

  105. For detailed information concerning an individual installation configuration, 
  106. select the configuration and press F1.

  109. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Remote System Manager Installation ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  111. The Netfinity* Manager offers only one installation configuration, Netfinity 
  112. Manager Installation. This installation configuration copies the following

  149. accordingly.

  154. The Install To field displays the drive letter and directory name where the 
  155. Netfinity* installation program will copy the Netfinity* Manager program files 
  156. appropriate for the system's configuration.  The default drive and directory 
  157. for this field is C:\NETFIN, but you can install to any available drive or 
  158. directory.

  163. Selecting the Install button begins installation of the Netfinity* program 
  164. files.  The files are copied from the drive and directory specified in the 
  165. Install From field, and are copied to the drive and directory specified in the 
  166. Install To field.  You may halt the installation process at any time by 
  167. selecting the Cancel button.

  172. Select the Cancel button to halt the installation process, clean up any open 
  173. files, and then exit the Netfinity* installation program.

  176. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Radio Buttons ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  178. The Netfinity* installation program allows you to choose an installation 
  179. configuration by selecting an individual radio button  A radio button allows 
  180. you to choose one of a series of mutually exclusive options, in this case the 
  181. installation configurations. They are called radio buttons because they 
  182. function in much the same way that the buttons on a car radio do.

  187. When two key names are joined by a plus sign (+), use these two keys together. 
  188. Hold down the first key and press the second.

  191.     Switch to the next open window, full-screen session, or icon that is 
  192.     minimized on the desktop.

  195.     Make the desktop window active.
