ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. General Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
When a session is in progress, the Change Session pop-up window, which lists
the Remote Workstation Control session states, appears on your screen. This
enables you to interrupt the session and change the degree of control that the
manager has over your workstation.
If there is an error, you can check the message log. Select Viewing Message
Logs for information.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Active ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use Active to give control of your keyboard and mouse to the manager. Your
keyboard and mouse input does not affect your workstation.
To take back control of your keyboard and mouse, press Alt+T and then press the
push button of a new state. The session state changes to busy and the manager
must wait until you choose a new session state before taking control again.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Monitor ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use Monitor to take control of your keyboard and mouse and to enable the
manager to see your screen display.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Suspend ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use Suspend to interrupt the session temporarily. The communications link with
the manager continues.
The manager does not control your keyboard or view your screen. Your last
screen just before you suspend the session appears on the manager.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Terminate ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use Terminate to end the session and the communications link with the manager.
The session state changes to Terminating.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. hot key ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Alt+T keys pressed together. It enables you to interrupt the session and
change to a new state.
When you interrupt the session, the session state goes into busy and the
manager must wait until you choose another session state.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. session state ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The kind of access that a manager has to your workstation during a session.
The session states are:
o Active
o Monitor
o Suspend
o Terminate
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Viewing Message Logs ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You can view a log of the informational and error messages that appear at your
system.
In the directory SYSVIEW2\BIN (or the directory in which Netfinity Server is
installed), edit the EQNTG.LOG file.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Help from the menu bar to see the following kinds of help:
Help index A list of help topics that you can select for additional
help.
General help A brief overview of the Remote Workstation Control
target.
Using help An overview of the help facility, the kinds of help
available, and how to access them.
Keys help A list of shortcut keys available in the product.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. General Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select General Help to see a general overview of the Remote Workstation Control
target functions.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Help Index ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Help Index to see an alphabetical list of topics in the help. You can
scroll through the index and select the topic you want to view.
You can also search the index using a keyword or phrase. Select Search under
Services on the menu bar of the Index Help window. You will see a pop-up window
in which you can specify the keyword or phrase you want to view.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 12. Using Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Using Help to see a description of the help facility, the different
kinds of help available to you, and how to access that help.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 13. Keys Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select Keys Help to display a list of the shortcut keys and key combinations
available to you.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 14. Keys Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
When two keys are joined by a plus sign (+), use these two keys together. Hold
down the first key and press the second.
Alt+T
Hot key
Esc
Close the current window.
Enter
Opens the currently highlighted item.
Shift+F10
Display context menu for currently selected object in folder.
Alt+Esc
Switch to the next open window,full-screen session, or icon that is
minimized on the desktop.
Alt+Shift+Tab
Make the desktop window active.
Alt+F4
Close the current window.
Alt+F5
Return the window to the size it was and the location it was in before you
hid or maximized the window.
Alt+F7
Enable you to move the active window to a different location.
Alt+F8
Enable you to size the active window with the arrow keys.
Alt+F9
Remove from the screen the active window and all windows associated with
it. The windows are hidden or minimized, depending on how the program was
written.
Alt+F10
Enlarge the active window to its largest possible size (maximize).
Ctrl+Alt+Del
Restart the operating system.
Ctrl+Esc
Display the Window List.
Print Screen
Print the contents of the window to the default printer.
