ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Help for Logon DCAF ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use Logon DCAF... to log on to DCAF and User Profile Management.
Fill in all the fields with the appropriate characters.
User ID
The unique name by which an authorized controller is known to the DCAF
security system.
It must be 1-8 characters long.
Character guidelines:
o Upper or lowercase letters (A-Z, a-z)
o Digits (0..9)
o Special characters: #, @, and $
o Blanks not allowed
Pass phrase
Similar to a password, except it can be much longer and contain blanks.
It must be 4-80 characters long.
Character guidelines:
o Upper or lowercase letters (A-Z, a-z)
o Digits (0..9)
o Special characters: #, @, and $
o Blanks
Logon User Profile Management
If you want to log on to DCAF and User Profile Management simultaneously,
select Logon User Profile Management.
In this case, Logon DCAF... extracts the password for User Profile Management
from the first 8 characters of the Pass phrase. That is, part of the Pass
phrase, either up to the first 8 characters or the first blank (whichever
comes first), automatically becomes the password for Logon User Profile
Management.
If you plan on using this double-logon feature, create a Pass phrase without
a blank in the first 4 characters.
To change your Pass phrase, see the Services pull-down menu on the
Distributed Console Access Facility menu bar.
If the logon to User Profile Management is unsuccessful, you will received a
message.
o Select OK.
o When the Logon window appears, type in the User ID and Password (for User
Profile Management) and Enter. Otherwise, you can cancel the request.
o Even if you cancel the request, you will already be logged on to DCAF.
Note: Even if you don't select Logon User Profile Management, you can
always log on by going through User Profile Management Services from the
Group menu bar in Desktop Manager or by typing 'logon' on the OS/2 command
line.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Help for Logoff ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this window to log off of User Profile Management.
o Select Yes and OK if you want to log off from User Profile Management.
o Otherwise, just select OK to cancel the request.
Note: Even if you select No, you can always log off from User Profile
Management by going through User Profile Management Services from the Group
menu bar in Desktop Manager or by typing 'logoff' on the OS/2 command line.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Help for Pass Phrase Change ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
