  24.          the drive to immediately start reading. Normally, it waits until the

  60. forget to replace the old driver (cdmgrdrv.sys) with the one included in this
  61. package (driver version 1.01). The old driver does not work with version 1.50
  62. of CD-ROM Manager/2.

  67. CD-ROM Manager/2 is a program that allows you to adjust certain operating
  68. parameters of Plextor (R) CD-ROM drives.

  75. drive; the following models should also work:

  99. CD-ROM Manager/2 verifies the SCSI id strings of the drives installed on
  100. the system. If a drive is found that is unkown but seems to be a Plextor
  101. CD-ROM drive, it is assumed to be a PX-32.

  103. CD-ROM Manager/2 has been verified to work with the following SCSI adapters:

  105.      NCR / Symbios 53C810 
  106.      Adaptec 2940 
  107.  
  108. Generally, every adapter with OS/2 driver support should work.

  111. Installation
  112. ------------

  114. This is simple: 
  115.  
  116.  - Create a directory for CD-ROM Manager/2 
  117.  
  118.  - Unzip the downloaded file to this directory 
  119.  
  120.  - Optionally, you can create a program object for cdmgr.exe 
  121.  
  122.  - If you want to use the online help (version 1.53 and up),
  123.    you must either copy the help file (cdmgre.hlp) to a directory
  124.    that is in the HELP path (i.e. \OS2\HELP) or change the HELP path
  125.    (in config.sys) so that it contains the directory of the help file. 
  126.  
  127.  - Check if there's a call to OS2ASPI.DMD in your CONFIG.SYS file.
  128.    If not, add the line 
  129.  
  130.       BASEDEV=OS2ASPI.DMD /ALL 
  131.  
  132.    to your CONFIG.SYS. If it's already there, check if the /ALL switch
  133.    has been set. If not, add it. 
  134.    If the /SHARE flag is set, it is strongly recommended to remove it! 
  135.  
  136.  - Add the following line to your CONFIG.SYS file: 
  137.  
  138.          DEVICE=[path_to_installation_directory]\cdmgrdrv.sys
  139.  
  140.  - and reboot.
  141.  
  142. Watch out for the line 
  143.  
  144.      CD-ROM Manager/2 ASPI Interface - Version x.xx

  146. during system startup. If it appears, everything should work.
