  14. The OS/2 Warp Installation Assistance kit prepares your IBM Aptiva
  15. for the installation of OS/2 Warp. It also installs special code that
  16. makes both Windows 95 and OS/2 Warp operating systems cooperate with one another in a dual boot environment. This package supports US
  17.  Aptiva models only.

  19. The OS/2 Warp Installation Assistance Kit contains:

  21. Windows 95 to OS/2 Warp Dual Boot Utility.
  22. Windows 95 to OS/2 Warp Long File Name Conversion.
  23. OS/2 Warp Installation Assistance Utility.
  24. Settings Adjustments for Migrated Windows 3.1 Applications.

  27. The OS/2 Warp Installation Assistance Kit for Aptiva supports most
  28. IBM Aptiva Mxx and Axx models preloaded with Windows 95. The complete
  29. model list is contained in the readme file provided in the package.

  31. Co-Requisites to complete your OS/2 Warp installation are:

  34. OS/2 Warp or OS/2 Warp Connect (with DOS and Windows application
  35. support is recommended). To order your copy of OS/2 Warp, call IBM toll free at 1-800-IBM-CALL (1-800-426-2255).  MWave audio/telepho

  37. MWave audio/telephony device driver for Windows 3.1.
  38. MWave audio/telephony device driver for DOS.
  39. Trident video device driver for OS/2.

  43. To add OS/2 Warp and the supporting device drivers to your IBM
  44. Aptiva, you will need to perform the following steps:
  45.  
  46. Print this document for your future reference.
  47. Create a new folder (directory) to hold the files that you will be
  48. copying to your Aptiva.
  49. From the Windows 95 desktop, double click on "My Computer".
  50. Double click on the hardfile "C:"
  51. Click on "File".
  52. Click on "New".
  53. Click on "Folder".
  54. Call your new folder ADDOS2.
  55.  
  56. Download APTWARP2.EXE (588,748 bytes) from the IBM PCCO BBS to the
  57. new folder you made. To do this:
  58.  
  59. Agree to the terms and conditions for downloading this kit.  Press Enter to accept the agreement and to download the APTWARP2.EXE fil
  60. e to your Aptiva.  Copy the file to the "C:" directory.     
  61. Locate the ADDOS2 folder in the list.
  62. Click on the ADDOS2 folder.

  64. Download the MWave and Trident device drivers.
  65. Download the folowing drivers:

  76. Click on each filename to copy the driver to the ADDOS2 folder that
  77. you made as instructed above. 
  78. You are now ready to begin the installation. To create the additional files 
  79. needed to install OS/2 Warp:
  80.  
  81. From the Windows 95 desktop, double click on "My Computer".
  82. Double click on the hardfile "C:"
  83. Double click on the ADDOS2 folder
  84. Double click on APTWARP2.EXE to unpack some files in your new folder. 
  85. When complete, close the window.
  86. Locate the README.TXT file and print it.
  87. Double click on each of the device drivers that you had copied to your Aptiva to unpack files. When complete, close the window.
  88. Have your copy of OS/2 Warp available.
  89. Follow the instruction in the printed copy of the README.TXT file to complete the installation.
