There is currently a problem getting more than 6 NetBios sessions
using the NetBios emulator provided with the Netware Requester
for OS/2. Let me explain:
Novell's NetBios emulation has been patterned after the original
IBM/Sytek firmware-based NetBios model. Hence, you get 12
Maximum Configured Sessions and 6 Current Sessions. In order to
get more Maximum Sessions, you must specify Sessions count in
your NET.CFG file. This will change the Maximum Configured
Sessions, but it DOESN'T change the number of Current Sessions.
To change the number of Current Sessions, you must perform an
adapter reset.
There are two files I will place on Netwire which will help
anyone needing more than the default 6 Current Sessions. One is
NBRESET.EXE which performs the adapter reset. The other is
NBTAST.EXE which stands for NetBios Test Adapter STatus. It
returns all the current information about the adapter status.
Appropriate text files will accompany the executables.
This will be corrected in the NetWare Reqester Version 1.2 for
OS/2 Version 1.2. Current Sessions will be set equal to Maximum
Configured Sessions.
