NET.CFG
All three sections are necessary.
LINK DRIVER LANSUP
If the Novell Server (3.X or higher) is not using token-ring_snap, exclude
the parameter. The node address should be a locally administered
address (LAA). It is theoretically possible to use the universal address.
The node address is required for the Novell requester to work. All of
the lines are necessary for a connection to the NDIS protocol.
LINK SUPPORT
Buffers 14 4202 is for a 16/4 card. Experimentation is now being done for
older cards. The max for an old 16K buffered card is 2002 in size. We
have started at 4 2002, but 8 2002 should work if you are not connecting
to an IBM LAN Server server at the same time. Novell suggested that the link
support buffer be 6 less than the Max Xmit Buffer (which must be divisible by
8). If you get an error, reset the link support buffer size that the Novell
error message suggest. I have only done this once, so there are no
certainties.
NETWARE REQUESTER
The only important line here is the PREFERRED statement. Preferred should
be the Novell Server you wish to connect and login to.
