ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Extended Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
PM eXPunge Directory is a 32-Bit utility to delete whole directories and their
contents. It is a versatile utility that can be used as a replacement for the
DeskTop Shredder, or in a command file (.CMD) using PMXPDs Automatic Mode.
There are other various options available to you that can help configure PMXPD
for your needs. Further Help can be found in the following areas:

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. eXPunge Push Button ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Selecting Expunge begins the deletion of the directory specified. First it
validates whats in the Entry Field is a valid directory. It will then prompt
for confirmation, (unless the Confirmation Radio Button is set to OFF ), before
starting to delete the directory specified.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Cancel Push Button ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Selecting Cancel will immediatly stop any directory deletion that is currently
in progress. The <ESC>ape key can also be used to cancel a deletion.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Pause/Resume Push Button ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Pause/Resume push button is used to temporarily stop the deletion currently
in progress. Once it has been stopped the push button can then be used to
continue the deletion.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Product Information ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Product Information menu selection displays a window with the version,
Copyright, and Description of PMXPD. Make sure you have the version number
from this window when you report bugs or request enhancements.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. Help Push Button ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Help push button is used to access Help! Since your already here I believe
any further definition is pointless
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Confirmation Radio Buttons ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Confirmation Radio Buttons define the way eXPunge Directory will start the
directory deleteion process. If the ON radio button is selected, then PMXPD
will prompt you for confirmation before deleting any files or directories. If
the OFF radio button is selected, then PMXPD will immediatly start deleting
files and removing directories. When using PMXPD in automatic mode for batch
command files, you need the confirmation radio button selected. Also see
/N No Confirmation Command Line Switch
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 12. Hide Status Check Box ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Hide Status check box is used to enable or disable the displaying of the
filenames that are currently being delated. When the check box is CHECKED,
PMXPD will not display the files it is deleting. When the check box is
UNCHECKED then PMXPD will show what files it is deleting. Also see
/S Supress Status Messages Command Line Switch
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 13. Files Only Check Box ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The /F Files Only check box is used to enable or disable the removing of
directories. When this Check Box is CHECKED then PMXPD will not remove
directories. It will delete all the files in the all of the subdirectories but
it will not remove the directories. This is useful if you wish to keep the
directory structure intact. When this check box is UNCHECKED then the
directories will be removed along with all of the files. Also see
/F Files Only Command Line Switch
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 14. Ignore Attribute Check Box ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The /I Ignore Attribute check box is used to enable or disable the deletion of
Read-Only, Hidden and System attributed files. If this Check box is CHECKED
then PMXPD will delete ALL files including Read-Only, Hidden and System ones.
If this Check Box is UNCHECKED then PMXPD will not delete Read-Only, Hidden,
and System files.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 15.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 16. No Confirmation (/N) ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The /N No Confirmation command line parameter disables the confimration
warning. This causes PMXPD to immediately start deleting files and removing
directories without asking if your sure.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 17. Ignore Attribute (/I) ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The /I Ignore Attribute command line parameter enables the deletion of
Read-Only, Hidden, and System attributed files. PMXPD normally will not delete
these files.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 18. Files Only (/F) ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The /F Files Only command line parameter disables the removing of directories.
When this parameter is specified, PMXPD will SET the Files Only Check Box to
CHECKED. This means that PMXPD will not remove directories. It will delete
all the files in the all of the subdirectories but it will not remove the
directories. This is useful if you wish to keep the directory structure
intact. Normally this check box would be UNCHECKED which would mean PMXPD
would remove the directories along with all of the files.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 19. Automatic Mode (/A) ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The /A Automatic Mode command line parameter tells PMXPD to end when it has
completed deleting the requested directory. This is useful for use in command
files when you need to delete a directory and then end so the next command in
the command file can execute. NOTE: PMXPDs Confirmation mode default is to
prompt you for confirmation before deleting a directory. If you want /A to be
FULLY automatic (that is no user intervention) then use must also use the /N No
Confirmation Command Line Switch and possibly the /I Ignore Attributes Command
Line Switch
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 20. Supress Status Messages (/S) ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The /S Supress Status Messages command line parameter tells PMXPD to end not to
display the files it is currently deleting. This command line parameter
significantly decreases the amount of time required to run. (That means the
program goes faster if you use /S)
