  1. This is OS/2 Port of wvWare-0.6.2, which is Micro$oft
  2. Word 2/6/95/97/2000 to HTML conversion tool.
  3.  
  4. This release is our second effort to port this
  5. application to OS/2, but there are still some problems which
  6. we didn't found how to solve.
  7.  
  8. First, we didn't have enough time to port all the libraries
  9. required to build this package, so, some features will not
  10. work or will work incorrectly, for example most images
  11. and ole objects will not be extracted from .doc
  12.  
  13. Second, we didn't have enough time to make wv library as well
  14. as png, wmf, zlib, magick and others to be compiled as DLL.
  15. So, all executables are really HUGE (Did you read this in
  16. previous README.OS2? There was a mistake. Those files was TINY ;)
  17. cause they statically linked with all the libraries listed above.
  18. But now we're half way to solve this problem, we already
  19. converted some libraries to dll but they are not included cause
  20. it's not recomended to mix omf and a.out libraries when linking
  21. executables. We hope we'll release "correct" versions of this
  22. applications very soon.

  24. If you have any suggestions about this, specialy libtool,
  25. please contact us.

  29. NOTE that this is a port of *nix application, so, due to there
  30. is no drive letters in *nices, all the utilities may incorrectly
  31. deal with drive letters in paths. We DO NOT recommend you to
  32. use ANY drive letters in any parameters. We also DO NOT recommend
  33. you to run all of these applications on drives which differs from
  34. the drive you installed wvWare on.

  36. After wvWare has been installed, you should read all the README
  37. files, wvHtml.man, which explains how to use wvHtml, and everything
  38. you find interesting in info directory.

  40. Also there is 1 and wv directories, which contains manuals and
  41. helper scripts (written in sh). We did not converted them to rexx
  42. because they using external programs which do not exists on (our)
  43. OS/2 platform(s). If you find us wrong, please contact us.

  45. Please verify that your system has emx 0.9d installed!
  46. Also check out README file to find how this program work.

  48. NOTE that we are not the *AUTHORS* of this software, we've just
  49. ported it to OS/2. So we *CANNOT* add *FEATURES*, just *BUGS*
  50.
