TEDI: a Text EDItor
CTSS, VMS, UNIX, and IBM PC Versions
Programmed by
Clair W. Nielson
Los Alamos National Laboratory
Los Alamos, New Mexico 87545
June 1, 1988
Copyright, 1990.. The Regents of the University of California.
This software was produced under a U.S. Government contract
(W-7405-ENG-36) by Los Alamos National Laboratory, which is
operated by the University of California for the U.S. Department
of Energy. The U.S. Government is licensed to use, reproduce,
and distribute this software. Permission is granted to the
public to copy and use this software without charge, provided
that this Notice and any statement of authorship are reproduced
on all copies. Neither the Government nor the University makes
any warranty, express or implied, or assumes any liability or
responsibility for the use of this software.
This 32-bit OS/2 port was done by Jack Klump who also makes no
warranty, express or implied, nor assumes any liability or
responsibility for the use of this software.
The archive TEDI-OS2.ZIP includes the following files:
README.1ST..this readme file.
TEDI.EXE....the text editor.
TEDI.DOC....complete documentation of the program.
TEDEDT.PS...complete documentation in PostScript format.
TEDKEY.PS...a summary of full-screen (key editing) commands in PostScript.
TEDBAR.PS...a template for function key commands also in PostScript.
The editor can be run in full screen or windowed OS/2 command line sessions.
It supports long unix-style file names but not necessarily all acceptable
OS/2 file names (e.g. no embedded blanks). It supports printing to local
printers (i.e. not networked) or to a postscript file. It can edit files
over four megabytes in size. It requires free disk space equal to the
size of the file being edited for a temporary work file.
For new users, I recommend reading the section on key-editing commands on
page 12 of the TEDI.DOC file.
