  8. * Change between 4.01 and 4.02 include a fix for the install where entering
  9. a non default directory pathname would cause an endless loop in the install
  10. script. Improvements to envelope SmartMasters were added for the default
  11. envelopes in TinkBar.

  13. * Changes between version 4.0 and 4.01 are merely within the install,
  14. not any of the files, except that a note was put into the tinkbar.lwp.
  15. The note is, if you choose to use the Tinkbar Copy Endnotes feature,
  16. you must have the Text ASCII DOS filter installed in LWP.

  18. Overview
  19. ========

  21. TinkBar adds important features to Lotus Word Pro through an add on
  22. SmartIcon tool bar and associated LScript scripts and SmartMasters.
  23.  
  24. This installation includes 2 products in one package.  TinkBar Lite is a
  25. totally freeware tool bar you may find sufficient.  TiinkBar Giftware
  26. version asks for a donation to further the TinkBar development effort.
  27. The Giftware version adds really cool stuff to all the TinkBar Lite
  28. features.

  30. Requirements:

  33. Lotus Word Pro must already be installed on yyour computer.
  34.  
  35. The folowing product/Platforms are supported:

  41. SmartSuite 97           Windows 95 and Windows NT

  45. All Standalone versions of Ward Pro on the above O/S's.
  46. Beta versions of Word Pro may still support TinkBar but no support is
  47. specifically offered.  Future versions of Word Pro or SmartSuite may
  48. require an upgrade to TinkBar as well.

  51. Installation:
  52. =============
  53.  
  54. Before doing anything open the document TINKBAR.LWP and review the
  55. installation instructions and features.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RUN TINKBAR
  56. BEFORE REVIEWING DOCUMENTATION.  Several important additional setup steps
  57. are required to fully integrate TinkBar Lite or Giftware TinkBar.
  58.  
  59. To start the installation copy the following files to a floppy disk:
  60.  
  61.         DISK.ID
  62.         WINSTALL.EXE
  63.         TINKBAR.001
  64.         INSTALL.DAT
  65.  
  66. Then execute the WINSTALL.EXE command from the Windows Start button -> RUN
  67. prompt or from the Windows Program Manager -> Run option.  To install
  68. from the hard drive you _must_ copy DISK.ID to the root directory of the
  69. disk drive you unzipped this file archive.  It won't work any other way.

  71. SPECIAL NOTE FOR OS/2 Warp users.
  72. =================================
  73.  
  74. While the TinkBar fully supports OS/2 Warp Word Pro versions, the
  75. installation program _must_ be run from a full screen session of WINOS2.
  76.  
  77. If you do _not_ have WINOS2 support then you have downloaded the wrong
  78. version of TinkBar.  Please go to the following WEB site and get the
  79. correct version.

  83. Without WINOS2 support you can not install this version.  The other
  84. version is identical but requires more manual installation steps.  OS/2
  85. Warp TinkBar is exactly the same in every other respect.  A REXX based
  86. install is already in the works.

  88. Last minute notes:
  89. ==================

  91. After installing the TinkBar or TinkLite version in any 97 product of
  92. Word Pro, you will need to open, close and reopen Word Pro again for
  93. the bar to appear on screen.
  94.  
  95. Installation to a server based copy of Word Pro can not be supported
  96. at this time.  SmartMasters, Scripts, and Icons directories must
  97. reside on the local workstation for proper usage of TinkBar.

  99. PLEASE NOTE Fix:
  100. ================
  101. The tnke1.mwp, tnke2.mwp, tnke3.mwp and tnke4.mwp should be saved by
  102. those file names after customizing.  Not as e1.mwp, e2.mwp, e3.mwp,
  103. and e4.mwp as noted in the files themselves.

  110. TinkBar is written with tender loving care for use in all versions of
  111. Word Pro.  However if the installtion of TinkBar should cause major or
  112. minor damage to your system or your life the authors assume no
  113. responsibility for anything at all due to TinkBar usage or installation.
  114. You are free to report all problems you encounter and a best effort will
  115. be made to correct any problems though no assurance should be implied by
  116. this offer that the problem will be fixed to meet any deadline you may
  117. have.

  120. any software product is always a very good and safe idea.
