A graphical frontend to the PsiConv file conversion utility that was originally developped for Linux and ported to OS/2 by Andrei A. Porodko. PsiConv/PM keeps you away from the command prompt and allows you to use point-and-click menu's to send the right commandstring to PsiConv that will make the conversion from Psion text and graphic file formats to ASCII, HTML, BMP, JPG etc. All conversions mentioned in the PsiConv documentation are supported by PsiConv/PM. It is possible that not all of these conversions work correctly with the current version of PsiConv so your mileage may vary! (I've tested PsiConv/PM with psiconv 0.8.1. It looks like both the conversion to GIF and the conversion to GIF87a is not done correctly. Epoc Word to HTML conversions are not always perfect).
*2. What do you need to use PsiConv/PM?*
Since PsiConv/PM is only a frontend you definitly need the PsiConv file conversion utility mentioned above. You can download this utility from Hobbes (http://hobbes.nmsu.edu. Search the archive for Andrei A. Porodko's PsiFTP. The PsiConv utility is one of the utilities in this zip file. And of course you need to run these programs on a computer using the OS/2 or eCS operating system with REXX installed. Most of the time, REXX is installed at the same time OS/2 was installed. If this is not the case you can use the OS/2 Selective Install Program to install REXX on your system.
*3. How to install PsiConv/PM?*
Just copy PSICONPM.EXE to the same directory where PsiConv.exe is placed.
*4. How to use PsiConv/PM?*
Using this program is very straight forward (I think). From the opening screen you can push a button for the task you want to accomplish. In the next screen fill in the full path and filename of the Psion file you want to convert and also the full path and file name where you want to place the converted file. Next choose the output file format by pushing one of the radiobuttons. Click the "DO IT!" button to make the conversion. Netdrive users can access files on the Psion directly because Netdrive makes your Psion look like a network drive to OS/2.
Please note that this version of PsiConv/PM can not check if the path- and filenames you entered manualy are correct. Of course if you input a non existent name, no conversion will take place. However, the program will show you a message box if you forget to enter the input filename or the output filename.

PsiConv/PM is provided as public domain software. The author is in no way responsible for anything that might go wrong (although I really cannot imagine what harm this little frontend could do to your computer).
