o Support for EH files.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Open Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This dialog allows you to open an .NG file. You can do this by either typing
the filename or by selecting the filename from the list. You can also change to
another directory or drive by selecting one from the directory or drive list.
The default directory (and drive) is the one you selected in the Setup Dialog.
After selecting the desired file from a directory click the Open button to open
the norton guide.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Print Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
In the registered version of NGVPM you are able to print topics. To print a
topic first select the topic you wish to print. Then press CTRL-P, push the
printer button or select Print from the File menu to bring up the print dialog.
In the print dialog you can specify the number of copies to be printed and the
priority of the print job. To start printing press the OK button.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Printer Setup Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
With the printer setup dialog you can select a printer and set its properties.
After selecting a printer and setting its properties push the OK button.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Setup NGVPM Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
With this dialog you can setup the default directory for norton guides, setup
colors, and other startup options. To specify a default directory you can type
a directory in the Startup directory edit-control. To make things easier you
can click the questionmark button to select a directory from a directory list.
This directory will be used when opening a norton guide.
In norton guides four colors are used: foreground, background, bold and
underlined. With the setup dialog you can change these colors by selecting them
using the four radiobuttons and the color valueset. Make sure you don't select
the same colors for forground and background. You don't realy have to select a
different color for underlined text because NGVPM can display underlined text.
There are two startup options which can be selected. The first is Save window
position and size on exit so the next time you start NGVPM the same position
and size will be used. The second is Start with last used guide which will load
the norton guide that was active when you closed NGVPM.
Using the change font button you can select the font of your choice for
printing norton guide topics. When you push this button the standard font
selection dialog will appear. You are advised to select a printer font for fast
printing.
When you are done setting up NGVPM, click the OK button, or click the Cancel
button to leave all settings unchanged.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Register NGVPM Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter your name and the registration number to register NGVPM. See Register on
how to register your copy of The Norton Guide Viewer for OS/2. After
registration this dialog box will not be shown on start up, the Register NGVPM
option will not show up in the File menu and the print option will be enabled.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Find Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
With this NGVPM dialog it is possible to search text in short and long entries.
Type the text you want to find in the Find What edit-control. Optionally you
can set the Match Whole Word Only and/or the Match Case options. Click the Find
Next button to start the search. The search operation starts from the line
which is selected. After a line has been found with which contains the text you
specified, you can press the F3 key to continue the search. If the search text
is not found a message will pop up saying no text was found.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Define Bookmarks Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
NGVPM allows you to define up to 9 bookmarks. A bookmark is very useful in
large guides. To set a bookmark select a topic within the norton guide using
the navigation keys, then push the F8 key or select the Define bookmark item
from the bookmark menu. A dialog box will now appear. In this dialog you must
enter a descriptive name for the topic you wish to place a bookmark on. To
define the bookmark push the OK button. The next time you select the bookmark
menu, you will notice that it has a new item: the bookmark you just defined.
All bookmarks are saved in a file, which enables you to use the bookmarks in
the future.
To remove bookmarks push the F8 key or select the Define bookmark item from the
bookmark menu, then select the bookmark you wish to remove and push the Remove
button. After pushing the OK button all removed bookmarks will be deleted from
the bookmark menu and file.
