README for LIST2 1.56, Copyright Warp Factor 7.
LIST2 1.56 fixes a couple of problems with 1.55.
1. The list2.exe's which were not supposed to require the .DLL's still
required the Borland runtime .DLL's.
2. The list2reg program being unbelieveably slow. These have now been
speeded up dramatically, there were previously so slow as to give the
impression that they had locked up.
Name change for Release 2.00. I have had a number of complaints about calling
the program LIST??. And as it seems to be causing some confusion especially
with respect to the name of the .ZIP file I've decided to change the name at
the 2.00 release.
This is the Beta for OnScreen 2.00 from Warp Factor 7, which I expect to
release by the end of November 1994. There is currently no documentation or
online help for the new filebrowser interface and I hope it is sufficiently
obvious to be usable for the basic functions of selecting and viewing.
Pressing / in the filebrowser will bring up a menu on the status line. The
highlighted characters represent the options available. You may also press
Alt+ the highlighted letter without brining up the menu first. Multiple
select/tagging is currently not implemented in the filebrowser.
A new manual is in the works and will be available in Microsoft Word, LIST2
"Text with Layout" format and (hopefully) OS/2 .ipf format.
If you have already registered a version prior to 1.56 and have received a
serial number, then you will be able to use the included LIST2REG.EXE program
to bind you serial number and personal details to the LIST2.EXE file. Your
serial number will be valid for all 2.xx releases.
Please do give copies of LIST2 to your friends, local BBS's etc. Please
ensure that you pass them the original LIST2 zipfile intact. Under no
circumstances should you pass on a copy of LIST2 which has had your serial
number bound to the executable.
LIST2 will unpack into a directory named LIST2 in the current directory.
Remember to use the -d switch with PKUNZIP, otherwise the OS/2, DOS and Win32
versions will overwrite each other.
The directory structure is as follows
.\LIST2\list2.doc* Manual in Microsoft Word format.
.\LIST2\list2.man* Manual in LIST2 text format.

Please do report any bugs you find or any feature that you feel is missing
from this beta. There will be one further beta before 2.00 is released and
it's likely to be another 3-4 months after that before the next release. Bug
fixes will of course be issued ASAP.
Thank you for your time and effort in testing this product.
Yours sincerely John J. Allen.
